How nice that you found the ONE "A-1" TM location that breaks TM's own rules. They are very strict around here regarding lottery #'s being passed out... IT IS MANDATORY if two or more people show up. And that, my friend is the official TM policy.

I got thru on the phone at 9:45 and the TM operator let me stay on until 10 am as long as I kept asking her questions. She was very cool. However, I will say, she had me ticketed at 10:01, and would you believe at one minute after, the best pavilion seats I could get at Nissan were in Sect 304? That's the THIRD tier. There were no orchestra available. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, at least I get to go.

To me, the biggest problem with these TM outlets is their location. They are usually in Hecht's/Kauffman's/Boscov's type stores. Obviously these upscale dept stores do not want them in their stores. The staff visibly despises selling tickets and "junking up" their stores with "undesirables" like us parrotheads.

To make matters worse, they put the most incompetant clerks in charge of selling them. They get easily confused, and as a result, they move slow as hell. I agree with the other posts - - ticket outlets should not accept credit cards, only cash. It would make things go a lot smoother.

Once I was in a Hecht's store and the guy working the TM machine was in his 20s. He was very smart -- he just kept printing as many tickets as possible, while the other person sold them. He didn't allow people to be specific about prices, locations, etc. This way, we ended up with a number of great seats as he just kept printing them out one right after another.

I think everyone needs to chill out on the ticket situation. I didn't get tickets but I'm not throwing a fit over it. So what! It's not the end of the world. It seems like the only people being smart about the whole thing is the people who actually got the tickets. After reading alot of this grap I'm glad I'm not going to be around the selfish people at any of the concerts. So in a way, I feel that I'm the lucky one!!

non: If the only people being smart are the ones that got the tickets, then, wouldn't you be around smart people if you were at the concert?

Mr. Scott - Sorry, just got back in town last night from Negril, Jamaica (no tree top flying though). I see, however, ANOTHER Anon has taken up supporting your position and mine with those nose pickers who can't figure out how to get JB tickets and then blame everyone in sight. (Thanks Anon II.) I have made many postings on this topic and it is like trying to shine a flashlight through a brick wall. Some people don't get it despite my best intent. You can ALWAYS get tickets to Buffett concerts. It is that simple. The trick -- Don't worry about tickets on the first day of sale. You might win but chances are you won't. It is because demand exceeds supply, forget scalpers. They ARE part of the equation but not the main reason. Too many Parrotheads is the reason (and that is pretty cool !). Here is what you do: buy from a broker or scalper a few weeks before the concert. As I posted once before, I was 3rd row center on the floor at Oakland. I paid $150 over face for the pair and would do that every day of the week. It cost me NO time, NO effort, NO sweat, NO yelling " Hang the blonde (from another posting to a lady holding up the line)", Just parting with a $150 bucks to pay the guy who got them for his effort. Well worth it in my opinion. For Parrotheads, many of you are sure uptight. Geez, RELAX ! Don't sweat a few bucks...buy them later and you you'll live longer.
Often, you can get them close to or even less than face value without any hassle. Check www.ebay.com. Anyway, stick to your "nothing over face" approach and you'll end up missing Bubba or be up in the boonies more often than not.
