BN World Series Survival

Post by SchoolGirlHeart »

Since many of us are very passionate about our sports teams, and since we currently have fans on opposite sides of the World Series diamond, I have a few suggestions to avoid head-butting, bad feelings and baseball rivalry "spillage" onto our BN friends who aren't caught up in baseball at the moment....

How about we agree to:

MSC: keep baseball out of the cafe except for the most benign of comments

Baseball Thread: keep the trash talk, proverbial beating of chests and posturing here

Rockies Fan Thread: For the Rockies fans, to share the highs and lows of the game and the series among themselves

Red Sox Fan Thread: Ditto, Red Sox fans

And then we can all still be friends after the baseball war is over? :o

Whaddya think?

May the best team win!

Why do I see DP66 creating a new account just to post anonymously in the Rockies thread??

OK here's how I look at it.

Having people on both sides is a GOOD thing. If your team loses you at least have someone to be happy for. :P For example while I was disappointed that the Indians lost, I was thrilled for Jen.

Of course if that person was obnoxious in his/her comments it would be harder to feel happy for them. So if we can keep the comments positive that would be really nice [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

I have really good friends on both sides of the series...so I don't know who to cheer for. Who has the cutest uniforms?

Good luck everyone!

It is ONLY sport ...... yes I am a passionate sports fan - but it is not enough for me to get nasty with people about it - called good sportsmanship ......

There was this idiot at the Bronco's game last night - was someone that gives sport a bad name - made a kid cry and all ....... he needs to lighten up and get a life .....

It would be sad if sports threads were to get nasty and need their own set of rules ..... just my 2c

I agree with you 100% however not everyone has that type of value - many don't think it's about sportsmanship but only about winning and bragging rights. Not that winning or bragging about it is completely wrong - it just can be overdone to the point it's hurtful and mean and way too personal.

You would hate to be in the southeastern US during college football season. That borders on (no wait, it is) pure, unadulterated hate in some areas.

In the end, IT'S JUST A GAME!!!

It's great when your team wins, but definately not the end of the world when they lose.

And certainly not worth making little kids cry over, for Christ's sake. :x
