Most watched sporting event EVER

Post by CaptainP »

Tonight, the Milwaukee Bucks play the Houston Rockets.

It is expected to be the most watched sporting event in history. Any event, any time.

Why?

Yowie. That's right....Yao vs. Yi.

The Houston Rockets feature Yao Ming, the Milwaukee Bucks feature Yi Jianlian. They are the two biggest basketball players ever to come out of China...and this is their first NBA matchup.

It is expected that as many as 250 MILLION people will watch this game...

In the world ever! I find that hard to believe. Who the hell cares about those two in Europe or South America? Is the game even going to be on TV in those two places?

I think the World Cup gets more viewers.

Read in today's paper that the last Super Bowl had about 93 million viewers, the BB game is expected to easily get double that number.

There's a whole lotta people living in China. :o :D

I'm too lazy to look it up but I would think something in the Olympics would get a larger audience. Worldwide TV, not just the US and China.
