Ok so we need a hot looking 20 something actress to play Lily? Anyone have any ideals of who could play the part of Lily?
Jessica Alba?
My husband would love seeing her in his shirt...is she young enough to pull off 20 something...didn't she just have a kid?
Jessica is 27 or 28, and actually Lily should be at least early to mid 30's. So Jessica could pull it off. :)
Lily (the character) was born in 1982 (9 months after the events of "Memories Are Forever").

The supporting cast from the show would be the supporting case in the movie.

*Sigh*.... Pipedream....
And you, my talented phriend, could WRITE THE SCREENPLAY ... :D

Whew, I could have a lot of fun with that! :D

Matthew McConaughey offered 'Magnum P.I.'

How about this for perfect casting: EW.com has learned that Matthew McConaughey has been offered the role of Thomas Magnum in Universal Pictures' adaptation of Magnum P.I.
http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/04/ ... conau.html

Perfect casting????? ARE THEY OUT OF THEIR EFFIN' MINDS????????

I just don't get it. Why can't they use the original cast and update it 20 years later? I can promise you the original cast would jump at the chance to reprise their roles. Will not positive about John Hillerman as age could factor in for him.

Due to intelligence they have found out they get Robbin Masters to fund the search and rescue of Magnum. Now this is of course using the orginal cast. So what do yall think of this plot so far? :)

Magnum fanfiction, anyone? It ranges from pretty awful to pretty decent, but everyone gets an A for effort. Here's three I like:

Bringing Joey Home
When Thomas returned to his hometown of Tidewater in 1985 for Grampa Everett's funeral, he hadn't been home for fifteen years. Why not?

Departure
Why did Thomas Magnum resign from the Navy?

Threads of Betrayal
What happened after 'The End'...? Will Buck Greene get what he deserves?
(This one deserves it's M (over 16) rating. It's got some scenes that are tough to read...)

And more here: http://www.fanfiction.net/tv/MAGNUM_P_I/. I also like the author Magwriter on this site.

I've got season's 1-3 on dvd but I don't know any of these.
I needs to brush up and get the rest.
I watch a lot of Magnum while I'm on the treadmill but I swear....I don't have a mancrush on him

btw.
I've always wanted to name a dog Higgins just so I can go out in the yard and scream "Higgins" just like Magnum
Higgy Baby would work too.

You don't have them because they don't exist, in a way. Fanfiction is stories written by fans and posted online (before the 'net fanfiction used to be sent out by newsletter or magazine). These are "episodes that never were," or the "before the show started" backstory or the "after the end" stories.

I LOVE the dog name idea!!

And William H. Macy will be his boss, Higgins. And Steve Zahn will be his friend Rick and Tyrese Gibson will be T.C. Pretty good casting.

Wonder if Matthew will grow a mustache ?

Somebody photoshop one on him please.

Not sure I like the choice, but there is a little resemblance.

Here's Selleck's take on the movie...
"Actor Tom Selleck has ruled out a cameo role in a planned big screen version of his 1980s TV hit Magnum P.I. - because he refuses to trivialize the show. Selleck is against compromising the memory of a television show he is proud to have starred in by appearing in a big-budget movie making fun of it. He says, "I tell you what worries me - because I love Magnum and we have loyal fans - is they take these TV show titles, and they buy them and they spend $100 million on special effects, and then they make fun of them and trivialize it. Then they try and get the actor who used to be in it to do some ridiculous cameo to prove to the audience that it's OK. And I will not do that."

I agree with him 100%, and respect him for not taking the easy money that a cameo would pay him.
