I need your help...I was reading here last week and saw something about a ticket broker that was actually somewhat fair. Since my friends and I missed out for Great Woods Saturday, I was hoping someone saw it too and could help us with the particulars. It has been a long cold, snowy winter in these western Massachusetts hills and a damn shame if we didn't have Jimmy to look forward to for the summer.

I had the info that was posted last week, but I didn't find that broker to be fair at all. He wanted $130 for a lawn ticket to the Nissan, VA show. Other ticket brokers I have called are asking $95 for lawn. His name was Ron at Prime Time, but I DO NOT recommend using him.

Well here I am again. I found the # and called but of course they quoted me for another venue. I was a bit upset but what are you going to do. I will tell you that I won't pay $185 for a lawn seat though! If any one has tickets or knows where I can find 4 or 5 lawn seats please let me know. I know every one is asking the same......

I hate scappers and brokers and would love to see really bad things happen to them but yesterday I found a site (www.ticketsnow.com) that had plenty of seats for Thursday & Saturday at Great Woods. Over 100 for Thurs and over 50 for Sat, pavilion and lawn and various prices. I thought hard about paying for them but decided it's not worth it to pay that kind of money to see someone I have already seen 22 times. There will be a lot of shows this summer and I'm sure I can find a couple that will give me the same satisfaction.

He only asked $55 for tickets to the Alpine Show. I can not belive that he asking that much for tickets. Do you think that the price goes up the closer the show gets.

I don't understand the big deal. You people all want to go see Buffett, but you don't want to pay scalper prices. Sometimes life just is not fair. We have seen Jimmy at least twice a year at Great Woods since 1991. Since about 98 (when Jimmy started slowing down a bit) we have to buy scalper tickets. It was a $100 back then, its about $115 now. You buy them right after the initial tickets go on sale and you get the best prices. Prices now for lawn on 9/1 are close to $200. I agree that is a little ridiculous, but $115 is not too bad. That's 65% margin for the reseller. How much margin do you think Macy's or Filene's are making......at least 45-65%.

A little better planning by all you people may go a long way. People think nothing about dropping $100 on dinner or $300 for a Sony Playstation. We all deserve a Jimmy break, and $115 for years worth of memories is well worth it in my opinion.

And no......I'm not a scalper. I actually bought conterfeit tickets last year in June. I had them all summer and then sat in the parking lot the night of the show. Did I buy scalper tickets this year? YES.

To all you too cheap.....RADIOMARGARITAVILLE.COM kicks off at 8:00 EST.

For the record, I did not post the previous message but do agree with it completely! What's a couple hundred bucks once a year to see a great event. Most of us waste that much money over the course of a couple of months!

Bite the bullet, go see Jimmy!
24 days to Nissan!!

If you are not doing anything the day of the concert just go to the venue. In Cin. this summer there were all kinds of tickets. I had stood in line and bought lawn tickets when they first went on sale. I was so happy I was able to get them. Went there the day of the concert and bought pavilion seats - face value. There were so many ticktes floating around I came home with my lawn seats still in my pocket, could not give them away because everyone at that point had ticktets. It is a crap shoot but it is worth a try. I know every show is different but there were plenty of scalpers "crying in their margarita's" because they could not get rid of their extra tickets.

I would recommend WebTickets.com. They only sell real tickets and have a very good guarantee. There phone number is 404-843-1344.

Prices are determined simply by supply and demand. It amazes me that people will pay $600 if Ticketmaster charges it, but if a broker charges $125 for an $100 ticket everyone gets bent out of shape.

If you don't like the price, don't pay it, wheather it is charged by Ticketmaster or a broker.
