Hubby and I skipped it last year, but we're going this year. The in-laws will have the kids.
We're hittin' Kohl's at 4am and ToysRUs at 5am and possibly Target at 6am. Not going for any major "hot" items, just looking for the sale prices for the things we know we want.
Christmas will be very "Cars" for Tony and very media-centric for Victoria. We're thinking a starter MP3 player and some CDs and music.
Mrs. Santa always brings both kids undies for Xmas and momma always buys them new PJs.
Here's the best site for Black Friday ads: http://bfads.net and the coveted WalMart ad is now posted.
Surprisingly we do. We have a limited budget for Xmas, so the sales really help. We have it down to a science, really. We get hot chocolate and coffee to wait in line and then grab breakfast afterward and "talk Santa" before heading back to the kids.
Yes, I'll go. Again. It's become a tradition.
This will be the fifth consecutive year I've done it.
After making fun of everyone else doing it for so many years and calling them every uncomplimentary name in the book, I've been right there with them the past five years.
This year I'll be looking for a flat-screen monitor and a DVD recorder. (DVR).
I'm sure there'll be other goodies that gets scoffed up by me, but those are the two main items I'm after this year.
I have not gone in a few years now! I can't stand the people who will run you down to save 10 friggin dollars!
When i was in high school and college the mall was THE PLACE TO BE on Black Friday!
I'l be in NYC for the day i have friends coming from out of town who will be staying there.Just gonna wonder around, eat and drink. They may do some shopping but i'm not. and we will go to Little Italy for dinner!

The only store within 90 miles that even has a black friday sale is Wal-Mart. I've gone in the past, when there were specific items that I needed/wanted on sale. I won't just go for the experience.
I haven't seen their ad yet, so I don't have any idea if I'll be going or not.

You would figure it is but the amazing part is it is not the busiest shopping day of the year. That honor usually goes to the Sat before Christmas. http://www.snopes.com/holidays/thanksgi ... opping.asp
Guess it is just because usually the best sales are that Friday it gets all the hype.
worked retail for a really long time and had to work every BF. so I make a point not to shop on that day. it isn't worth grey hairs I'd get from sitting in traffic and standing in line.
I usually don't go but I probably will this year and it's mom's fault!!! If she hadn't posted that link with all those dadgum sale brochures!! I'll get up at like 4am - take Don to work, go have coffee and then hit the sales. IT'S MOM'S FAULT!!!
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.
I'm definitely a HELLLLL NO!!!!!I'll stay home in my nice warm bed, get up and have a relaxing cup of coffee and start watching Christmas movies like Miracle on 34th street. I don't leave my house on Black Friday! Too much eye clawing, toe stomping, car dinging activities for my liking!
