It's a Calypso song that tells the same story as an old English folksong, "Johnny be Fair," about a young person who falls in love, but is told by their father that they can't marry that person because they're related, even though "momma don't know." After a few rounds of this, the frustrated lover goes to talk to momma, who says:

"His momma just laughed and said, 'Go, man, go!'
Your daddy ain't your daddy...but your daddy don't know" (Calypso)

"He's not the one that sired you, so marry whom ye will" (English)

I don't remember the one Wayne's talking about either. But I *do* tend to associate songs with phrases a *lot*. Prob'ly comes from being a musician, in my case.
