GENERALLY speaking, it's considered "sad" when a dude starts regrowing facial hair just for the sake of having hair on his head.
(I don't make these rules, I just pass them along)
umm dear?
I have had facial hair for all but 3 years since I was 18. That's more than the time I had a full head of hair.

I said GENERALLY!! And referred to men who have lost their hair THEN grow facial hair to compensate. Sorry if I wasn't clear, Sugarplum!
My love is staying an anchor tied to you with that silver chain.

That's why his shows are such a gamble, you never know what you're going to get. It's also why I haven't been to see him in concert (despite many opportunities) since the 80s. At one of his more recent appearances he was too drunk to play so someone propped him up on a stool and the show ended in less than 30 minutes.
If he's been "doing this for years," one has to wonder about the business acumen of a venue that would still be willing to book him. There aren't any secrets in this business - the venue owners talk to each other and read the trades. I'd guess the venue in this case figured the odds were they'd still make money, regardless of whether or not the fans felt ripped off. Unless the venue is issuing refunds, I wouldn't shed many tears for them.

I'm guessing it's because there's still the occasional show where he turns in a full performance as expected.
By the way, the wig thing isn't anything new either. My second time seeing him back in the 80s, he was sporting one then too. That was a particularly memorable concert as well as it was later learned someone in the audience was brandishing a pistol. DAC definitely brings out all kinds.

That's probably why there was a "contractual obligation for a 90-minute show". The venue was protecting itself against some of his antics, so if the contract was well-written he won't get paid. If it wasn't.......see you in court.

probably goin to be a visit to a courthouse in his future, but that doesn't mean they are going to get the money back.
