TB: Let me know how that light thingee works for ya! I've been thinking about getting one. I know how you feel about driving to and from work in the dark. Blech.

Let me know how it works too - but then I'm still waiting for summer warmth.

Why not move?

I live in New England because I like it here . . . if I felt drained or whatever because of the cold and snow I would find work elsewhere and book it . . .

I lived in KW for about a year and I lived South East of that on one of those whacky little islands as well and let me tell you. . . it is very overrated.

I'll take New England and the islands, beaches, city areas, and moutains and harbors and all the weather (and 4:12PM sunsets  )it offers any day.

*if moving is not an option (and it almost always is . . .) how bout one of those out door fireplaces . . . gets you outside and fresh air is very healthy . . . and theraputic . . . just a suggestion. I am in a harbor in the freezing Nantucket Sound winds all day so I am happy to sit inside at a bar at night.

They say that a lot of the Northern lattitude contrys have/had high suicide rates that were in part blamed on the lack of Sunlight in the winter. The lack of sunlight created a Vitamin D deficency which has something to do with how you feel....I forget the rest of the way this is all linked.....Anyway, it doesn't take all that much time to get your daily dose of Vit D.... depending on your lattitude (as the angle of the sun greatly decreases the further north) you only need to spend around a half hour or so and you only need to have your face getting it for your body to produce the needed Vit D......So take a walk at lunch.....the tanning booth has the same effect as well.....Lots of offices install "Full Spectrum" lighting rather than standard florecents. We did this in our office spaces in Dutch harbor and the gals all said they thought it made a difference......I never seemed to notice....then again I was always making excuses to go outside and walk around the plant....

Hope the light helps ya feel better....... :D :D

Hope it helps you, (((JoAnn)))!! :-?

Can't say I've ever experienced such a thing. I don't love the Winter (mostly cause of snow) but I find I get to enjoy doing INDOOR things that I wouldn't do during the Summer. :) Things at home or going to public places (museum, sporting events, ,movies).

The Tanning bed does work, I had that talk with the doc and she said "try it", I really do feel alot better and have a cheery attitude after, however given my parrothead ways maybe Im a biased test subject.
