Does anyone remember this show?
Does anyone remember Jimmy performing at the Front Row Theater outside of Cleveland Ohio? This would have been in the very early 80's . Maybe 80 or 81 or so. It was in Feburary , I think, and it rained like crazy.
Jimmy came out in a yellow rain slicker......... Maybe just the Beach Band?
That was our first Buffett Show.
Anyone?

Re: Does anyone remember this show?
Did lots of googling, and lots of searching on BN, and I don't see any tie of Jimmy to the Front Row... even tried Buffet and Freddie / Freddy!parrothead216 wrote:Does anyone remember Jimmy performing at the Front Row Theater outside of Cleveland Ohio? I was at an Alpine Valley Show, I believe in the 80s, when in a driving rainstorm, Jimmy and Fingers appeared in yellow rainslickers on a platform located behind the pavilion and in front of the lawn seats...they played one or two songs, disappeared, then the band came out on the regular stage...very cool!

It seems this person saw them there:

It's my last day of work til 1/2, and I can't seem to do anything constructive today!
To save you some time: "Hmmm, great venues: the old Front Row Theater in Cleveland. 21 rows in the round total (the stage revolved), 3,000 seats. Concerts: Tom Jones the 1st time, Jimmy Buffett (1st time, 2 total), Gordon Lightfoot (great crooner & balladeer), Rodney Dangerfield (ROFLing good!), heh, not to mention Wrestlemania ONE on the big screen!"

I was there, they were about 20 feet over my head. We were in the last row of the seats, past the roof and soaked. It was very cool. It was also the longest show I ws ever at. He kept saying, "If you are stupid enough to stay, I'm stupid enough to keep playing"mrvngrdns wrote:I was at an Alpine Valley Show, I believe in the 80s, when in a driving rainstorm, Jimmy and Fingers appeared in yellow rainslickers on a platform located behind the pavilion and in front of the lawn seats...they played one or two songs, disappeared, then the band came out on the regular stage...very cool!

Re: Does anyone remember this show?
I was there too! I loved seeing Jimmy in that yellow rain slicker and maybe even rain boots. I found a ticket stub online that said the show was in March 1983. Like you I would have said it was earlier than that.
Re: Does anyone remember this show?
According to the set list database over at BW Jimmy played two shows at The Front Row Theater in March 1983:
03.26.83 Cleveland, OH Front Row Theater
03.27.83 Cleveland, OH Front Row Theater

03.26.83 Cleveland, OH Front Row Theater
