My middle name is MacKenzie.
My father (who was born & raised in Canada) gave that name to me in honor of this man:

Image
William Lyon MacKenzie King.

Prime Minister of Canada during World War II.
He actually served three terms as Prime Minister, for a total of 21 years, which is longer than that of any other Prime Minister in the history of the British Commonwealth.
He also served under three different Monarchs. (George V, Edward VIII, and George VI).

Ray

No rhyme or reason. Mom and Dad liked it. I'll be working on a better story though..... maybe there was a Saxton king who's first son was a mighty warrior who's passion was to attack at the first ray of light.......

Ya..... that's it........ That's where my middle name came from. And BTW my wife, MORGAN FAIRCHILD WHOM I'VE SLEPT WITH, loves to call me Ray too.
got to stop wishin' got to start fishin'....

Jo-my father's name was Joseph, but I don't think that determined it.

It is a tradition that the men in my family have a middle name that begins

with a "W". Mine is Wane, no Y. It is a ancient Gaelic name associated

with a spear.

How appropriate.

My middle name is Jean.

My aunt sorta named me - she had boys and told my parents the name she wanted to name a girl had she had one. So they named me that. She and I are the closest of all my aunts. I didn't know about the name until I was pregnant with my son. My son is named after his dad's grandfather.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

I don't currently have a middle name :-?

I was born Patricia Renee (I was supposed to be Ralph Alan but when I didn't have an extra appendage they picked my name out of a hat - when they couldn't come up with a middle name after that, they named me after my mother (first name) and called me Reneé

Then I became Reneé Parks when my stepfather adopted me (took my old last name as my middle name)

Then when I got married I became Reneé Longo (took my adopted name as my middle name)

I morphed

Wouldn't THAT be something.
But there's nobody else in our family named MacKenzie. I was just given that name as it's the name of my father's favorite Prime Minister.

My father's name, by the way, is Revere Paul Joseph. :-?

Denise... I think it just had a "ring" to it.

Mom wanted to name me Holly Hannah but my siblings put a stop to that. (thank goodness... a little too much ring!  )

I have a niece with the middle name JoLyn... after me and my sister Lynne.
