Today I was able to get tickets to Nissan, but when the tickets went onsale I was on the phone with a friend who was also getting tickets and he saw the Find Tickets link at least 2 minutes before I did, that set me back quite a bit getting the tickets because he was in and searching and it said a 6 minute wait and when I got in it said a 13 minute wait. I was finally able to get seats, but they were not that great, I think I would have had a chance at better seats if I could have got in when he did.

We go to a "little known" TM in northern VA and this I had to go because hubby was running a fever......I got there just before 11 PM the night before and I was 5th in line! The first was a ticket broker with his wife who talked all night with his other people on different lines trying to get Nissan tickets and had been in line since 7 AM
Between the fact they paid in cash and needed change and the TM was not completely up and running right at 10 AM, my tickets were 200 section and 101 section. The ticket broker was the only one who got orchestra.
IMO, this is the best way to get tickets as long as there is not a lottery and you are 1 or 2 in line. The computer is a crap shoot, but has worked for us (but never with great seats). I'll be camping out again next year, but I'll be scoping out another TM.....

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

I was second in line at a Macy's TM yesterday to buy tix for the Detroit show and got shut out. The lady at the window was only able to get one transaction done in the 2 minutes it took to sell out and then she kept telling us 'that she had no idea he was even popular anymore." The hours of waiting before hand were pretty pleasant. Lots of nice people in line, too bad they got shafted too
Luckily my Aunt was able to get them online so we have almost as many as we need.

I feel your pain. I too was second in line a few years back, but shut out of tickets as the lady in front of me kept tossing back the ones that were pulled up for her until she got what she wanted. It was a long wait because tix for some Disney production were also on sale at the same time and the line was filled with moms and impatient kids!SimplyComplicated wrote:I was second in line at a Macy's TM yesterday to buy tix for the Detroit show and got shut out. However, I do have friends that stand in line every year, and every year are successful in getting lawn seats. Don't know what tricks they use to make that happen!
But bottom line, glad your auntie came through and helped out!

When I lived in Indy, I would- because there is one outlet where they have it down to a science. They ask how many you want, and lawn or pavilion beforehand, and as soon as it opens they just start pulling down as many as they can. You don't get to choose whether you want those pavilion seats or not- you want them, they're yours, if not, someone else gets them and you head to the back of the line.
I actually got seats one year because someone else returned them the night before another concert went on sale!

that is the only way I used to go get tickets. Down here in the Dallas the lines never got long. I was always the first one there and the person working the computer could always pull good seats. 2 years in a row I got 1st row seats and I was never worse than maybe 20 rows back since moving here in 1997. 2 years ago all of a sudden they started a lottery with all the people in line, they say it is a new ticketmaster rule to reduce brokers waiting in line. With the lottery you could be first there but last to get tickets. Luckily it was all PH's in line and we decided after we drew numbers to go in the order we arrived.
Since that day I buy on line and still have not had a problem getting goods sears. Last year in frisco I go 20th row on the field and I am in about the same place this year.

Waiting In line at a ticketmaster
I am with doc&jeannie (sp) on this one. I have never, never gotten tickets before waiting inline-- a waste of getting up early -- cause they do the lottery thing -- the chick behind the counter has nails like dracula--- you rbest bet and it works for me -- have three ticket master screens open-- logged in and billing info saved and try on the phone too.... always have a few friends trying as well-- someone is sure to score!

I was number two in line two years ago for Shoreline tickets in Northern California. Got great seats. The person behind me ended up on the line. A fews earlier, I was 5th in line and there was nothing but lawn. You stand a much bettter chance on line and what has become very apparent, good tickets always become available. Be patient and keep trying
