The Winter of Buffett
As a long time reader and fan of the Buffett News community (but newbie member) I look forward to a personal favorite time of the year that I've come to refer to as "The Winter of Buffett".
Every year around this time I start to enjoy reading posts that roughly follow this sequence:
> Will Jimmy tour this year?
> If he does tour will this be his last year?
> Are the Coral Reefers the same as last year?
> Will Fingers rejoin the band full-time?
> What venues will he play this year and when?
> Why doesn't he ever play (insert city/country here) any more?
> Tickets are too expensive/too hard to get
> Ticketmaster really (insert your favorite derogatory phrase)
> Ticket brokers really (see above)
> Jimmy plays too many cover songs
> Jimmy doesn't play enough of his old songs any more
> Will Jimmy tour next year?
Am I poking fun at my fellow Parrotheads? No, quite the contrary. I find these discussions as being proof positive that we Buffett fans are still interested, devoted, and passionate about JB's music and our concert experiences. Even after all these years, "here we are........"
And, among all the discussions about these very topics over the years, I have personally benefited from many of the tips that BN members have freely given about ticket buying, concert directions & parking, where to find a motel room.....the list goes on.
So rest assured that I'll be at my computer on a regular basis, most likely with a tropical drink in hand, reading everybody's post this year.
Welcome once again to "The Winter of Buffett". Cheers!

And those questions?? All very valid, and said by many as you've noticed.

Now that you all mention it, I remember one Buffett concert last year when I sat in the rain on the lawn, drinking a Landshark (not that bad, really), surrounded by people humming Kenny Chesney songs at intermission, others complaining that JB was singing tunes from the "yellow album" and wearing the same t-shirt from the previous 3 shows that tour, and.......wait a minute, Fingers left the band?
Sorry, it's early in the morning and the first cup of coffee is just now kicking in!
And thanks to all for your kind words. Yeah, I think I've come to right place.....

we cant forget to mention jimmys business moves with the restaurants, lawsuits, casinos, etc.... its funny because i find all these topics intersting as well. i think its because alot of us try to plan ours summers around the concerts.

I think we got cabin fever.
Somebody sound the alarm!
Friday: Cloudy with snow accumulating. High 31F. Winds ENE at 10 to 15 mph. 3 to 5 inches of snow expected. 100% chance of precipitation.
I gotta go where it's warm!!
