just like the other millions of people with mental illness or substance abuse, the onus is on the individual.....but I just think adding the freak show to the problems makes it that much more difficult to recover from....but then again, she's an attention wh*re.....so really, she digs it.

no mental illness. she was fine her whole life . . . she is now a user who has had all the help in the world . . . time for some jail. some serious jail time. lost count on how many laws she has broken . . . no more help . . . 3 squares and a few iron bars - there is your therapy Britney.

Just think-all this started WAY BACK when someone with no eye (or ear) for talent decided she could sing.

It's the nature of the entertainment industry, especially with singers and actors. If they're not in the news, they feel like they won't get a break so they go with no news is bad news attitude.

She's a train wreck. Should have been locked up long ago. Get some help and NOT from her lawyers, assistants, body guards or family.

And the number of reporters on the ground and in the air last night. BEYOND ridiculous.

Heck! What Jimmy got "busted" for prescription drugs in France he took the time to respect the people who made him rich and famous and wrote a short note explaining what happened. He didn't have to do it. But he did.

From the child of a parent who is/was a trainwreck (but not in the public eye) with drugs and alcohol .... all I can say is there is two little kids who deserve to have a mother.

HOW she got this way ... now irrelevant ...

What IS important is that she is able to the care she needs, so she does not become another statistic ... and these kids get a mother ... like everyone should have ....

I wish my parent had gotten themselves sorted out - never did, even with our intervention and very forced actions on them - it is HARD .... it is not an easy thing for a person to do and I hope that she is able to sort herself out for the sake of her children.

It really screws kids up to see things like this going ... I was lucky I was a bit older ....

She needs one of those quick MicMac fixes. In one hour, 40 minutes with commercials, Dr Phil can help her.

sad very very sad for those kids! I hope they don't see those news clips until they are adults.

I think Oprah's like a boil on the butt cheek of society but a lot of people love her. Whatever floats your boat. Or boils your butt.

What saddens me is that nobody wants the kids. I can't believe that if the father really wanted them he couldn't have had them permanently by now. The only visitation she should be allowed is at a neutral site under supervision. I would think that the only chance she has to get better is for her kids. So if they are taken away and she has to visit them in a glass room with an aide present she might see how bad things are and do the hard work.
And if she doesn't at least the kids are protected.
There are times when she's done things that seem like she knows the kids need to be taken from her. She doesn't have the heart to just give them up so she hopes somebody takes them.

It's sad, her mother is no better. She's caught in the Media glare as well, to think she was writing a "how to be a good parent book" please, are they kidding me. (this was scrapped when the younger sister turned up pregnant) She's pregnant, britney is obviously drugged out beyond help.

Someone else needs to get control of those kids. If Federline, or his people are, then so be it, you don't hear about anything goofy going on with him. Crazy, eh?
