The International Rugby Board (IRB) started the Sevens series in 1997 in order to develop an elite-level competition series between rugby nations and develop the Sevens game into a viable commercial product of the IRB. The 2007/08 series encompasses seven cities around the world, with the tournament season beginning in December and running thru June. All international teams are competing for the World Sevens Series Championship title by accumulating points based on their respective finishes in each of these tournaments.
More than 35 nations will compete in the 2007/08 IRB Sevens series.
Sevens Rugby:
Played on the same size field as traditional 15 a-side rugby, sevens rugby is played with only seven players per team. In addition to a keen understanding of how the game is played, pure speed and athleticism are the foundation for the sevens rugby standout. The game is played with non-stop action, thrilling attacks and game saving tackles.
The USA Sevens debuted at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, California in February 2004, marking the first time the United States ever hosted an official IRB event of this magnitude and world importance. The tournament is now held at Petco Park in San Diego, California
With 16 Nations, 44 Games and 2 incredible days of action, USA Sevens is fast becoming one of the most exciting sporting events in the United States.

New Yankee Stadium cost now at $1,300,000,000, with still another year of construction. Over $24,000 per seat.
"We tried to reflect a five-star hotel and put a ballfield in the middle", said Yankees chief operating officer Lonn Trost. As a baseball fan, that doesn't sound good.

When I was watching the early news this morning before I left for the train station, they did a story about the new stadium. There's going to be a steakhouse in it. What happened to hot dogs and beer?

That will cost $1,000 each.

The one thing I liked is that the Yankees field is supposed to have the same dimensions as the current one. They said they would do that in Detroit, then said there wasn't enough space for that configuration. Then they built a field that was so much larger that they had to bring in the fences after a few seasons. Liars.

When they built Camden Yards, half way through the architect realized the contractor forgot to add the bullpens. That's what they are in such a odd space and designed how they are. They were originally suppose to be side by side.

Clemens is in a pile of sh*t. McNamee's ONLY motivation in this is not going to jail.
He got to use Clemens homes . . . boats . . . planes . . . had an expense account . . . probably got laid more than he normally would . . .
there is no other reason for him to come clean other than to avoid jail and Clemens is going to spend alot of money on his legal team to clear his name. Not going to happen.

Just a casual point of view from a Phillies fan regarding the New Yankee Stadium. Looked at all the artists renderings of the new park and I must say it looks pretty much like the old park. So why spend $1.3 billion for basically the same thing?
