Really? Worst venue in the country? That's a bold statement.msu#1 wrote:I was excited when I read that Deer creek was closed, then you ruined my day by saying it would remain open.
By far the worst venue in the country. I hate that place with a passion and never could understand how that craphole got a concert every year.
have you been to any other shed?? The traffic was bad, I thought the tailgating was bad, yes it does have a lawn (like most sheds) but its huge and the sound is terrible. Plus its in the middle of nowhere.indymiller24 wrote:Really? Worst venue in the country? It sells out, its right next to the highway, there's a lawn so you can actually enjoy the concert without being cramped, the sound is good, they open the lot early (one of two concerts with an exception at the venue) for Parrothead tailgating, and it's in my backyard. [Back off!]
To me, it'd be really sad to see the day when we can't enjoy a Buffett concert on a blanket, but rather have to sit in a stadium with terrible acoustics.
I've been to Riverbend in Cincinnati and to the other Verizon in Charlotte. Both are sheds.msu#1 wrote:have you been to any other shed?? man... i thought i was the only one.PalmTreeGal wrote:Wow....what did Indy do to all of you? My goodness. Traffic is bad at every concert/sporting event that I've ever been too regardless of who was playing. That's when you get your tailgate back out and chill and have some more fun.
I think that hearing Jimmy sing at a Jimmy concert is only part of the experience. You go to have fun with your friends and make new ones on the way. No matter where it is. This isn't the Taj Mahal when you go to party in a parking lot. It's just that, a parking lot. It's what you make of it.
As far as the Colts fans, not too bring up bad vibes, but not everyone that is an Indy native is like that I didn't see/hear what happened so I can't judge. All I know is that we are proud of our Colts. They are good role models for our kids as well as ourselves. We may have lost thegame, but for the most part, people in Indy are decent people. Please don't judge us all by the actions of a few. I dont' think that's fair.
I'm sorry, being an Indy native, I had to speak up. It's one of the best cities I've ever lived in and I miss living there. It's full of good decent people that shouldn't be criticized because of a few over zealous fans.
I have had a good time every time I have been to Indy. I think the twit from NE was just stirring the pot.indymiller24 wrote:man... i thought i was the only one.PalmTreeGal wrote:Wow....what did Indy do to all of you? My goodness. thanks!
Granted the traffic was horrible but they have made a lot of improvements (traffic wise) to the area. The place has really developed in the past couple years.msu#1 wrote:I was excited when I read that Deer creek was closed, then you ruined my day by saying it would remain open.

I was right, that WAS Kenny Cheeseney up there last year....PartofthePhlock wrote:No, Jimmy retired 2 years ago.
FYI, the city of Indianapolis felt so bad about this behavior of a few drunks at the game that they publicly apologized to the girl on a live TV hook up with her. In addition she and her entire family will be flown to Indy and be treated as VIP's at the 2008 Indianapolis 500.jeepndd wrote:I hope Jimmy was watching the half time show at Indy this last weekend and had a chance to see the NO CLASS Indianapolis denizens booing a 14 year old girl who was being announced as winning the Punt, Pass, and Kick competittion in her division because she was from New England. I hope Jimmy then decides to never play the totally classless city again. You people in Indianapolis should be ashamed of yourselves and your city.
Ding ding ding!!! I wish the scalpers/brokers would do the same. And I won't even comment on the NE guy. Except to say that the super bowl this year was almost as sweet as when the Colts won it the year before.ches4me wrote:The only reason I started this topic was because I did not want to miss going to Indy this year. I have loved going, and the Indy Club has been great. very gracious and welcoming to us. I have been on their Bus each year that Indy Club has had a bus available.
I have a very simple soloution for anyone with a problem with an Indy show............ DO NOT GO. Leave the Indianapolis seats for those of us who want to be there. !!!!.
