As for phjim? I always think of him as the guy behind the curtain running the show and I would rather not wake up!

I AM THE GREAT AND POWERFUL PHJIM!!!!
I beleive those that have met phjim have stated that he is not Jimmy.
Not even close!
I don't mean that in a bad way either.
He just likes the music too.

If I hear you correctly, Creeky, you mentioned that the "real" James William Buffett was on-line yesterday afternoon because you recognize his username. So that means he is registered under one of these names (I happened to be online at the time):
alphabits
Burney Charles
ClevelandMark
CrznDnUS1
diverg
lostshakerofsalt66
magnus & Mr. Moon
mason
phjrsaunt
Super Trooper
Now I don't know a lot of these fine people yet, but I'm sure I could eliminate a few. Anyone care to work the process of elimination?
Or shall we just keep the allure of the mystery?

But you can hide your online status so it doesn't show. If the "real" Jimmy posted something you would know he was online, but his screen name still wouldn't show on the "who's online" list.

I guess we'll have to ask Creeky if she saw a post or saw his username.
Creeky, where are you? Sleeping? Is it still night time in Australia?

And I MAY be wrong, but I think she MIGHT have meant that she saw him online on MySpace. ??

I wonder why Jimmy would bother to register if he doesn't post? He could just lurk as a "guest" and read the comments, after all...

Perhaps he uses the PM feature? Who knows why.

Also to know what he's read and what he hasn't (assuming he can check semi-regularly). I do that on another board that I lurk, but don't post in.

He registered so he could vote for all the song polls...which should be dropped, what should be added, March Madness, etc.

on a side note, anyone that runs a forum site like this one can tell you this is the fact, you can see IP addresses of people that post. I am pretty sure even moderators can see this.
What that means is that if Jimmy ever did post here and especially if it was an IP address of a know residence, it would be easily traceable. There is software that can pinpoint who and where the poster is located.
