Bobby Fischer has passed on

Post by aeroparrot »

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Interesting? He was a crazy anti American a$s. He certainly forgot where he came from in his later arrogant days . . .

I agree, but back in the day, he really smacked that Soviet Superiority off their faces by beating Spassky. I do think think little things like that were actually very big for our morale during the time and helped put chinks in the "scary, unstoppable, Russian" armor.

Oh I agree . . . I just to choose to give my "sail ons" to people I respect. And if you publicly denounce America and speak badly of our country (or any country for that matter) I don't respect you . . . no doubt he was quite talented at chess - brilliant even.

I think Fischer got up to around a 2800 rating at his best . . . I played in a league once for about a year and got to about 1100 . . .
