I'm pretty excited...just found out Levon Helm is doing a mini-tour of the Northeast this spring and he's coming to the Orpheum in Boston. Helm really hasn't toured at all in a decade or so with his throat cancer battle in the late 90's. He's done a remarkable job of regaining full use of his voice and sounds really good these days.

Has anybody picked up his new CD from 2007, Dirt Farmer? I really enjoyed it.

Also...did anybody here ever see The Band back in their heyday?

Levon performs quite a bit in the Woodstock, NY area. His studio is up there. I believe the venue is on or near the legendary sight of the concert.

Never saw the Band in their heyday, but Last Waltz is a CLASSIC concert film, and the deluxe DVD is worth the $$$.
