Oh, yeah. Brilliant. They had a special on Bob Newhart on PBS not too long ago and she discussed that scene.
I remember watching that with my brother (and we'd grown up on "The Bob Newhart Show" rerun) and the two of us just jaws-on-the-floor-staring-at-each-other because we thought it was the most brilliant thing we'd ever seen.
