If a team from the old National Football League wins (Giants), the market will go up that year. If a team from the old American Football League wins (Patriots), the market will go down. In the first 41 Super Bowls, it's been right 33 times, a winning percentage of 81%. So if you want the economy to recover it's your patriotic duty to root for the Giants to win the Super Bowl.

I have heard that before . . . too funny! GO GIANTS!

It's a fun story but there is no corelation between an old AFL team winning against an old NFL team. Over the past 10 years, half were won by old AFL teams (the Broncos and the Patriots) and in those years, the market was up.

Interesting stat on Boston.com today. Since Rodney Harrison joined the Patriots as a free agent in 2003, the Patriots are 58-7 with him in the lineup. The team is 19-9 without him in the lineup.

Coming into this season they were only 15-9 without him in the lineup. He missed the first 4 games this season. Obviously all wins by the Patriots.

Another interesting fact, this is their 7th trip to a league championship (at least 7). I know the Pats played in one AFL Championship game.

The Giants are number 1 with 13 trips to the League Championship game (including the NFL Championship games prior to the Super Bowl era).

WRONG!!!!

The Green Bay Packers have WON 12 Championships
(1929, 1930, 1931, 1936, 1939, 1944, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1996)
They have LOST 3 Championship games (1938, 1960, 1997)

That's 15 to the Giants 13.

It is always funny when the 'experts' talk about championships in the NFL, most of the time they only talk about super bowl championships and completely ignore the fact that there was football prior to the super bowl.

AGREED!!!!!! THANK YOU....I keep saying this....

"The Cowboys have won more championships than any other team"....this drives me nuts.

The Packers won as many Championships in the 1960s than the Cowboys have won TOTAL!!!!

Here's another reason to root for the Giants.

There is already a book for order called, "19-0: The Historic Championship Season of New England's Unbeatable Patriots''

Order yours today!

Didn't Bill Belichek get p*** when he heard that Philadelphia was planning a parade route before they played their Super Bowl?

Yep. The city of Boston already has planned one already. Probably p*** off the Coach when he heard (assuming he already has) this.

About the book. That is amazing.

Don't read too much into this . . . it is just like how newspapers have obits written about people of importance before they die . . . doesn't mean anything; just a way to corner the market if it happens.

Probably, maybe similar to how they have both the teams as "Super Bowl Champions" for t-shirts and stuff and when the game is over, that team has the stuff (with their emblem).

When I was in New Orleans I passed a store that had LSU National Champion t-shirts in the window. Right next to the marked down Ohio State version.
