MOTM 08

Post by augustagaparrothead »

I don't know about the concert schedule. However it would be nice if he showed up at meeting of the minds once in a while. It's been three years since he has showed his face. We do all this charity work in reference to what he stands for. So you would think he would show some consideration for his fans with out us having to spend $126.00 for a couple hours of his time. I think its sad he doesn't show his appreciation for what we do more than he does. Besides if we didn't buy his margaritavile junk where would he be (NO WHERE MAYBE) Your welcome Jimmy :-?

I heard that you were his proxy.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

There is absolutely no reason to go to Key West for MOTM if Jimmy doesn't give his assurance that he will be there! :pirate:

I've been to MOTM 5 times, I never went hoping or expecting Jimmy Buffett to show up. He happened to be there 2 of those 5 times. Neither appearance was the highlight of my time in Key West. Your mileage may vary.

Wow, and here I thought raising money for charity was supposed to be a sort of selfless thing.... How silly of me....

Maybe some of us here are a little odd, all that traveling to MOTM just to see friends and the bands that are scheduled to play, with no other expectations..... Strange creatures.... Maybe we're not true parrotheads if we don't get PO'd when Jimmy doesn't show up at MOTM?? *GASP* :o :o

We jsut went to our first MOTM in 2007. No coral reefers...no jimmy...we knew that up front...had a BLAST!!! Most definitely going back (Good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise!). It'd be OK. Jimmy doesn't "owe" us anything. I paid my $126 with no expectations of seeing JB anywhere but on the stage for a couple hours.

Hi and welcome to bN!

Dont worry about getting flamed by some - people seem to like to do that to newbies.

Just to give my little side - MOTM is not organised by Jimmy - I believe he tries to get there if he can - but a lot of the time his schedule conflicts - and he does not do all the bits and pieces of his schedule. So basically it is two organisations and sometimes the dates conflict.

And as most people said - MOTM is a great time with friends - I have been to 4 and had the best time each time!

We will be at MOTM 2008, (our first!!) If JB shows, GREAT! but I'm really looking foreward to all the lesser known but really outstanding acts.(Jim Morris,Scott Kirby, Boat Drunks, just to name a few) Bar Stools and Beachchairs sums up why we'll be there!
