Since we didn't get to a concert this past year, I'd love to hear them all. It's like these are staples of a JB event that you can count on. EVerything else is a bonus.

PLEASE COME BACK TO NO CAL JIMMY :D

It was a photo finish but Brown Eyed Girl, definitely. If you've ever heard Van Morrison do it live you know why. 5:00 is about 1/2 inch behind in the race.

A year ago I would have said CILCIA, but it has been a loooong winter and I've really developed a new appreciation for it in the last couple of months. :)

There's nothing I can teach Jimmy about working a crowd, I wouldn't change a thing.

Interesting how now It's Five O'Clock Somewhere is on the list of the "standards". But yeah that has pretty much become a standard since mid 2003 at all the big shows.

That got my vote since it was on the list, otherwise CIP would have been first choice. At least Jimmy actually DID write CIP!

I wouldn't consider BEG as a standard, but yeah, it was played at every Bama Breeze and License to Chill big show... and every PATEOW and SPOL big show, except for about 2 or 3...

BEG... all day everyday...

I am kinda tired of that song in general. I dont want to pay jimmy to hear him singing my least favorite version of it.

Jimmy replace it with Wino I know... or who's that blonde stranger.

yeah, whos that blonde stranger!

the song BEG gets the heave-ho, not for being a unacceptable tune
but for the way it feels like Jimmy kinda "sleepwalks" through it :-?
I disagree wholehardedly with this statement. After reading many posts here concerning BEG, I thought about it as we went to the concert last year in Chicago.

The reason Jimmy plays BEG (at least from my Chicago experience) is that he and the band generally have fun with this song. You could tell at that concert that they honestly were enjoying performing BEG for the crowd.

For me, take off "5 o'clock"

He did.... that was the last time. Pretty sure I heard or read an interview where he forgot it or deliberately dropped it in Frisco and no one screamed, so he left it out from there on.

On the Tuseday's, Thursday's and Saturday's CD, wasn't BEG the song where Jimmy shouted out the USA Girl's Soccer team? That was a GREAT sports moment. The drums are awesome. I'd rather see CIP and Fins go first :o (Fins reminde me off those "action songs" from Sunday School that made you feel extra dorky  :D

Orlando and Tallahassee were the only times he played WDWGDAS last year. I had the misfortune of hearing both of the last 2 live performances. On the other hand, going to both of those shows meant I also heard the only 2 live performances of Getting The Picture.

Any time I see a discussion on this topic I get the impression that it's a lot of people trying to prove they're more "cultured" than the rest of us when it comes to Jimmy Buffett.
Let's be honest ALL these songs are what drive a Jimmy concert and make it the sing-along community experience so unique and soul warming.
I have no ambition to chuck out any of these songs for some obscure cut from the past.
For those of you that take BRB during these songs enjoy the fact that the lines are far shorter than when I take my BRB during the fifth cut from the latest album. And I meet a lot of good, fun people standing in the p*** line.

Cheers

Even though I thought 5'oclock was a really clever and fun song when it came out, if one had to go this would be it. Although I'm glad Buffett won an award with it I always thought he got way too much credit for the song. It's a guest appearance for crying out loud. Cheesburger and Fins aren't great works of art but fun. As for the rest of the ominous "Yellow Album" songs, these are some of Buffetts best written and thoughtful songs ever. There's a reason alot of people relate to them. Never understood the venom for Brown Eyed Girl either.

Remember the Carson Tribute. WDWGDAS was done as a sing along with footage from the lots. That would be a good way to do CIP, 5:00 or one of the others on the list. You would have something to show during intermission, and people would not complain that Jimmy did not play that song!
