Mohegan Sun 08
Listening to Mike & the Mad Dog from Mohegan Sun today. They had someone form the venue (Jeff Hartman?) who mentioned that Jimmy will be playing a show in August in the M'ville Cafe I think.
They didn't give a date, but Mad Dog was excited to hear the news and Mike siad even he would go to that show.

Casino of the Wind, one of the major components of Mohegan Sun’s multimillion dollar Project Horizon expansion, features 45,000 square feet of new gaming space, a 16,000 square-foot Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant, as well as additional dining and retail options. The new casino is scheduled to open in this fall.
Take Me Away to Margaritaville
The legendary entertainer himself, Jimmy Buffett, makes a permanent stop on his tour at Mohegan Sun, as he opens Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant and retails outlet.
Diners will be transformed from the woodlands of Connecticut to the warm beaches of the Florida Keys in the multi-level, 16,000 square-foot eatery decorated with tiki huts, palm trees, a 30-foot spinning waterspout and an eight-foot tall blender.
Guests can enjoy dinner, drinks and live entertainment on a sailboat in the indoor marina or under shiny skies on the outdoor terrace overlooking the Thames River. The 366-seat eatery will not only be one of the largest dining venues at Mohegan Sun, but the first indoor/outdoor restaurant as well.

Any Update on Mohegan Date????
BUMP.
Do we have any connected 'Mohegan Insiders' on the board?
I want to lock in a room if Jimmy is coming to the casino again...had to stay off-casino last year....and that is really not a good idea after a day of Corona Curls.
I guess Corona Curls are better than Corona Hurls.
Anyone....anyone???

My BF and I were at Mohegan last weekend (we go WAY too often!) and there is no way the Margaritaville there will be finished by August.
My guess would be that he'll play the arena the last week in August, before the Great Woods shows in Mansfield. Then he'll return for the opening of the Margaritaville at Mohegan Sun later.

10,000 seats - just slightly more "intimate" than other venues, but the sight lines aren'e great from the floor, if I remember correctly through the haze...
We'll party just like Bubba does,

I've been to a few concerts at Mohegan Sun (none of Jimmy's though). My thoughts about seeing a concert there:massbeauty wrote:I've never been to a Buffett show at Mohegan....what is it like seeing him play there?
* Very expensive. Expect to spend a small fortune (not counting time spent in the casino) - if you plan to stay the night at the hotel, start buying lottery tickets now - the room prices are bumped up the night of concerts.
* The arena is small, I don't think there's a truly bad seat in the place, but the upper levels are steep to climb
* Acoustics are so-so
Of course, these facts aren't stopping my husband and I from seeing Jethro Tull there on 8/10 (following the Tull concert at Jones Beach on 8/9)

I've been to all 3 JB shows at Mohegan. The first yearmassbeauty wrote:I've never been to a Buffett show at Mohegan....what is it like seeing him play there?
I made the mistake of buying an expensive seat, but
the past two years I've used $91 PH club tix behind the stage.
The behind stage area has a great view, good sound and
fun people. I like the Mohegan parking lot because it's a smaller,
friendly contrast to the huge Great Woods party scene(which
is fun in a different way). The Mohegan staff has a great sense
of humor and keep the lot spotless without infringing on your fun.
You can also get out of the parking lot in minutes after the show.
I've enjoyed the shows there. My 2 cents...

Tailgating is in a smaller lot than venues like Great Woods, jeepndd wrote:Two questions, do they let you tailgate, and how do you get PH club tickets?
but, yes they let you tailgate. They have staff ready to clean
up every bottle cap that hits the ground, but they let you have
a great time. It doesn't take much time to tour the whole
tailgating lot so it's more intimate than a larger venue. I usually
arrive around 9:30 or 10am coming down from ME.
