Tortillas and Tacos

So, I'm curious. We talked about pizza, why not tacos?

(making them for dinner tomorrow).
For those who eat / like them (you don't have to answer this, Jenny.

) which do you prefer?
Me? If I eat out it's soft/flour kind, cause most places don't make them like I do at home.
I use corn tortillas, deep fried in pan of oil on the stove, about 20 seconds flat, fold over, and turn for another 20 seconds. Hot, chewy, and yummy!!
Oh, and before the thread wanders....

Mine is hamburger that *I* add the spices too (not a package mix), cheese, lettuce, taco sauce, tomatoes, olives, and sour cream.

I like soft tacos, and toss them on a hot pan for about 30 seconds before serving.
Inside, I either cut up a steak, chicken or ground beef, add cumin, chili powder and a few other spices, lettuce, tomato, onion, a good salsa, cheese and sour cream.
It's on the menu for this week

Fish tacos for me with corn tortillas.
I very very rarely eat the more well known taco.

I prefer soft. Never tried your deep fried corn version, Penny. Sounds yummy!

Soft flour......my Mom worked for McCormick-Schilling, so I grew up using the packaged spices......so that's what I like!

I never could find a hard taco while down in Tulum, Mexico, must be an American thing? I prefer soft tacos.

I never had a taco (or any other Mexican food) until after I left home.

I said other as well - it all depends on the meat and where I get them from. If it's at a taqueria it's gotta be soft!!

Typically I'm a soft taco guy, but occasionally go for the hard tacos.

Had to go with corn, deep fried - because of nostalgia (not because it is really my fave). When I was growing up - Friday was "Taco Night" with deep fried corn shells - sigh - what a great memory - since there is lots of chopping and it takes time to cook up one corn shell at a time - these were always long, relaxing, fun meals and me and sis would trade off each week who would ask to be excused to watch TV ....Great memories!!!
