OMG how awful!!!!! The
Video is frightening!!
I hope he heals quickly!!!
IMHO they should have stopped the game because of the blood contamination.

my Dad was a hockey player, and because he'd seen things like this (and worse) he wouldn't let me play organized hockey....

Luckily, they have pretty good equipment but there will always be that freak accident. I mean, how often do you get feet near your neck?

How odd that this would happen a day after a linesman was severely cut by a players' skate in the Flyers'-Rangers' game.
This and the Trent McClearly incident (hit in the throat by a Trent Klatt slapshot and crushed his windpipe) are probably the two worst on ice injuries I've seen since Mark Howe was nearly killed after being impaled on a goalpost back in the 80's. That injury is what led to the detatchable goals that we have now.
McCleary and Howe both recovered and it looks like Zednick is going to, too.

I'd say the Clint Malarchuk thing is THE worst thing I have seen. He had a 3-foot pool of blood from his neck on the ice. Very gruesome.
