alaura, you can also check eBay! There is a local Buffalo company that sells on eBay (ID: empire_liquidators), and they allow local pickup for $5. Their warehouse is located down along Rte. 5, heading towards downtown. We've purchased quite a few blenders from them in the past! We often see the rechargeable ones too, typically sell for next to nothing.

Good luck!

and since we're such good neighbors, and great tailgaters (think bills games) wouldn't it make sense to play a concert in buffalo so that everyone could experience buffalo style hospitality. :D

That would be great if JB came to Buffalo......... to the Ralph. I remember when the Grateful Dead used to come years ago..........

I sent Jimmy some emails on his my space...... but then I figured that I better stop, or the police might show up at my door....... I am not sure how many e mails I can send before it reaches stalker status!!

And we ARE the city of good neighbors, so he should come here.

-Karat--- I do think that Pittsburgh is a little nicer than Buffalo......
we dont have nice river cruises, and we do NOT have a Fatheads....
If we did, I would be a fat @ss, so I guess this is a good thing!!

One more thought...... seems as though all of the other rumored shows came true, maybe we can talk someone into posting a Buffalo rumored date, and then that one will come true too???

Think it would work???

speaking of snow Karat..........

This is outside my front door this morning...... tree branches hanging down to the ground from heavy snow....... sagging down about 5-6 feet more than it should be. Not as bad as the October storm, but still not pretty!!

Weather wise Pittsburgh is SO much better! Temps have been between 40-60 this week. The last time we had anything in the way of white stuff was weeks ago, early March and it lasted one day. We have rain right now.

I think Pittsburgh is prettier - we have a ton of revitalization going on, but every town has a few bad areas.

I just got up, late for work... have a good one all!

I was in Pittsburgh two weeks ago...... no snow! It was cold, but no snow.
We did a lot of walking around the city, and in Buffalo it is getting less and less safe, unfortunately. There are some great areas in downtown Buffalo, but even those areas are not all that safe anymore.

There are some wonderful suburbs though! Great villages and towns.

We love to go to Pittsburgh though. I think we may even go in 2 nights before the concert, just to hang out in the city for awhile.

Hope you are not late for work!!! I better get moving myself........
I have to clean the mo$he* &uc(in# snow off of my car!!!

Have a great day!!!!!

Yikes...snow in October?!? At least here near Pgh we were still in the river swimming. (I'm 25 N of Pgh where river is prettier). When does Buffalo's snow end?

Our snowfall usually ends in February ~ but we're almost guaranteed one or two end-of-season snowstorms in March!

The October storm we had a couple of years ago was a total fluke. It knocked our power out for 5 days!

october storm suc$ed to say the least....... I was in Europe prior to the storm, I came home that Wednesday before the storm, late at night. Went grocery shopping the next day, since I was gone for 9 days and there was no food left in the house...... spent over $200 on food the next day, went to bed that night and woke up with no power in the am..... we had no power for 4 days...... and had to eat all of that food!!! It was actually too warm to put things outside!!

The only good part was the three snow days (paid) from work!!

It was exciting the first day, then after that it go old FAST!!!
We did get a generator though. I know people who didnt have power for 11 days.

We lost power twice this January. I wanted to cry!!! Even having he generator!!

Buffalo weather is wacky....... September and October can be 40* or 80*

here, as in where???? We are definately willing to crash a party!!!
I think we may come down on Sunday and stay downtown. I usually stay at the Omni, but I think I would rather stay closer to SouthSide. WE love to go to Fatheads....... have I mentioned that before??!!?? Lol~~

We had taxi issues at 1am a few weeks ago....

My tickets arrived today! So I've got Philly and Pittsburgh covered.
Now all I need are Virginia in August and I'll do the "Buffet a month"
thing. :pirate:

Laura - see if you can get good rates at the Holiday Inn Express on 10th Street in the SouthSide...the trolley/sub system into town is not close by, but you can walk all over SouthSide!

If you are in early and I am off, I would love to meet up with you prior to the concert!

I think I am going to try to get AC tickets on Monday... figured drive up on Sunday AM, stay over and then come home MOnday late morning...crayz - all the more reason to do it!

Just FYI, in case you do not know, if you are staying on the Southside, there is a Post Gazette Pavillion Bus leaving from the Hard Rock Cafe (Station Square, Southside) at 5:15 PM, returning after the concert. You can buy tickets at the Ticketmaster outlets--online etc. My son may be doing this. (LIves in Shadyside.)There is also a bus leaving from the Waterfront. (PGP bus)
