The busses are great - though I will not be on another one, unless I rent the whole bus...there were really ticked off people last year because of the time thing, there was an accident on the way to the concert. I know of 6 busses that pulled in 25 minute before the show started....

One was coming from Monroeville and one I knew was coming from Fox Chapel, A friend was driving one bus and a friend was a passenger on another...

*sigh* my fingers are not working on here!

If you are in early and I am off, I would love to meet up with you prior to the concert!

I think I am going to try to get AC tickets on Monday... figured drive up on Sunday AM, stay over and then come home MOnday late morning...crayz - all the more reason to do it!
Just FYI, in case you do not know, if you are staying on the Southside, there is a Post Gazette Pavillion Bus leaving from the Hard Rock Cafe (Station Square, Southside) at 5:15 PM, returning after the concert. You can buy tickets at the Ticketmaster outlets--online etc. My son may be doing this. (LIves in Shadyside.)There is also a bus leaving from the Waterfront. (PGP bus)
That would be great to meet up! What I think we are going to do is stay right in Pitt the night of the 20th, on the 21st and 22nd we are staying at the Holiday Inn Weirton, but we are planning on coming to the other H.I. for the party the day before the concert. We are definately staying in Weirton the 21/22nd but I havent reserved anything in Pitt for the 20th yet. Station Sq. is another option for an area to stay.

The other people that we are going with like Church Brew Works, and a few other places in the area.

Hopefully we can work something out to meet up prior to the concert. I am sure we will........

and since we're such good neighbors, and great tailgaters (think bills games) wouldn't it make sense to play a concert in buffalo so that everyone could experience buffalo style hospitality. :D
Speaking of Buffalo, I just learned how to make a Beef on Weck...I've eaten them many times (my wife's family is from Buffalo) but until recently I never knew how to make them...they would be an awesome tailgate food! And no, it's not easy to find Kimmelweck rolls in the middle of Ohio, but PM me if you want to know how to make one. :pirate:

Church Brew Works is in Bloomfield...not a bad drive from South Side - you do not want to stay up in Bloomfield - too crazy and not much activity on a Sunday... South Side will be busier....

Okay I'm off to work, again *sigh*

not 100% sure what we are going to do yet I guess.
It is a little bit too early to decide for sure. Looks like we are up to a group of 12 now also, maybe more.

Yummy!!! Beef on weck!! There are a lot of foods from Buffalo that you can not get elsewhere..... I mail things to out of town relatives because they miss it so much!!!

I often mail out Sahlens hot dogs, teds hot dog sauce, and sponge candy. Although, maybe you have sponge candy in Pittsburgh??? Not to mention the local chicken wing sauces!!! We need good food in Buffalo, it is cold here so we need to eat a lot so that our bodies have a lot of "insulation" to keep warm!!

oh no Murph! You are helpful, there are MANY people that would rather take the bus!!! The more information on how to get there the better!

I just don't like them and I know of all the problems that happened last year.

HEY - anyone out there on last years buses? Your 2cents is appreciated! thanks all!

beef on weck is great- but wings are my weakness. sahlens hot dogs (another buffalo specialty) will probably be our tailgating choice. they don't take up much room on the grill.

Sahlens are great too, and I agree - they would be a good tailgate option as well! Haven't been able to find them in Ohio though. And I haven't had a Ted's in ages. We used to be able to find sponge candy at the Daffin's candy store, near Sharon, PA.. I think they still had it when we were there around Christmas time.

Julie & I called it the bus ride from hell! 2 yrs ago used bus that picked up in Fox Chapel...took 3 hrs to get to concert...the guy drove slow...stopped at unlisted pickup places (so no people where there) took wrong road thru PGH streets. Got to concert just in time to use restroom & sit down to the concert which started 5 minutes later. I though maybe it was just this bus with complaints...heard from many more they had problems too. Last year used hotel bus...really a great service....am using again this year.

I should have said the bus was thru Ticketmaster. Bus used from hotel was great....driver stayed with bus all the time so people use the bathroom on board...you could bring things on & off the bus when needed. That is why hotel bus is going to be used this time again from Holiday Inn Express...on Campbell's Run but also got notice HI on Universal Blvd is alos having bus service.

aLaura - tickets for AC go on sale on Monday, tommorrow...I will try to score 2 and then go from there.

Murph - Hotel buses GOOD.....the various stopping here and there bus, you COULD run into problems, that no one can account for. Last year there was an accident that kept not only the buses late from getting in, but others as well!

Personally, I would try to get on the Hotel Buses.... HEY Steel City Fins....if you are using the bus company from Mt. Nebo, I have an awesome bus driver to suggest, though I know he would rather be at the concert as a concert goer!
