he said that the outrigger contest is being held in the islands down there. since jimmy has more than a few months off from touring, perhaps he might venture down there next week.

Fares arent looking to bad for Feb actually. About $1500 from NYC. I cant believe I am actually considering going again

Maybe I should call some family members and see who wants to give me their frequent flyer miles as a Xmas or Bday present  :pirate:

I think it might have been Delta (I use Kayak). I just pulled random dates from February. But I know Air Tahiti Nui had a DIRECT flight from JFK to PPT on certain days, havent looked into depth into that though. That's gotta be a long flight (but I wouldnt mind :D )

'There's rumor of us makin' a Hawaii/Tahiti trip....but it'll be February when it's all nice & tropical here...'

I wish they'd figure out a damn finish date for the Honolulu M'Ville....I know that's what it's all hung up on....

If he had done this a year and a half ago when he first started talking about it, I probably wuld have gone. Now with the economy in the tank and my 401(k) down more than 40% this year, I think I have more important things to do with my money.

Come on Jimmy! Please share what adventures lay ahead us here - in 2009! Especially Tahiti, Hawaii, Australia! I am already headed to Hawaii in February, whether you are going to be there or not. I leave 5 weeks from today. Haven't you had enough vacation time??

Just wondering ...

Is it really possible -- with Hawaii dates on the horizon that Tahiti will actually materalize ... or is it simply a pipe dream?

I'm trying not to get too excited ... but Tahiti would be fabulous! :pirate:

I had really planned on this but given the economy I really need to keep my savings account full, normally I'd say "What the h*ll" Plus the people I was planning on going with have decided they don't want to spend that kind of money either soooo... I hate to miss it though. :(

Edit - seems like we're all re-thinking it. I wonder if the fact that its teens below ZERO here has anything to do with it!
