roughly $1400 Of course, that's today. If he makes us wait until September/October, we're probably going to need to auction off our first born...... :-?
I hope my parents don't decide to go.
I AM their first born.
guess it depends who you get auctioned off TO.... :o

Conventional wisdom would indicate that he'd do Tahiti after Hawaii.
Using that theory, I checked the prices of airline tickets from Honolulu to Tahiti.
$1838.00 round trip! :o
And THAT'S flying from Honolulu to L.A., and from L.A. to Papetee.
Jeez, Louise!
Maybe I'll just go fishing in Oshkosh instead. 8)

Do you want to help us hold up the "WHEN IS TAHITI??" sign at GW???
You always have a great seat, I'm sure he'd see it. Although mine is pretty good too, maybe we should make several!

I was going to do it for Philly, but totally forgot and am not happy about it.

By the time GW rolls around, I better be holding a "See you in Tahiti" sign!  WE NEED A DATE!

Found an interesting story by Tom Moffatt online (I am assuming most of you know the Moffatt/Buffett Tahiti history)
http://www.midweek.com/content/columns/ ... gabbin119/

A Bloody Mary and a Margarita: It wasn’t long after that I was with Jimmy Buffett in Bora Bora after his first Tahiti concert in Papeete in 1982. We were invited to dinner at Bloody Mary’s, and afterward our genial host asked us to stay behind, as he had a surprise. After the other customers had left, he brought out a 16mm projector and showed us South Pacific in its entirety. Seeing the movie’s vibrant Kauai scenery, including the mythical Bali Hai, while sitting there amidst the similar beauty of Bora Bora is something that I will never forget ...

But didn't you tell me one time that your sister wouldn't be a good date?

Seriously give us a date for Hawaii and Tahiti. As long as I make it to Hawaii I'll be happy. If I'm able to do Hawaii and Tahiti that'll just be icing on the cake.

A question for everyone here. Do you think I'm safe to make plans to be out of the country from Sept 6 to November 1. I wouldn't want to make those plans and find out Jimmy is doing Hawaii/Tahiti starting on Nov 1.

He said he wanted a DATE, he didn't say anything about a GOOD date. :pirate:

I'll go to Hawaii, and there's a CHANCE I could go to Tahiti IF it's immediately before or after the Hawaii concert. I'm not holding my breath, however.

You may be pushing your luck a little there.
His restaurant in Hawaii is supposed to open sometime in November, so it would make sense that it would cooincide with the concert. I'm guessing everything is contingent upon the opening of the restaurant, F.W.I.W.

Well he better announce a date no later then mid July. I'm getting ansy about the price of airline tickets. Right now Costa Rica is only $600. hawaii is about $700 to 800 last time I checked, but hope to be able to use FF miles to Hawaii, or pay for a ticketto Hawaii and use FF miles to get to Tahiti.

I just hope to God none of this falls through like so many of his other "projects."
If so, I just may have to get to one of the west coast concerts just to make myself feel better.

(And I can actually DRIVE to CA-provided a gallon of gas there doesn't equal the cost of a concert ticket by that time).

I'm getting anxious too - if Tahiti happens and is feasible for us (it likely is, we fly for free to LA and can buy cheep to tahiti, so it's pretty much lodging only), i am totally out of vacation days (and will have to be sick for a friday and monday to make LMS and the Oct 18 vegas show).

If it doesn't happen, or if it does happen and we can't make it happen for us, then I will be in great vacation-day shape and can get on with my fall plans.

sigh ...

He only gave 2 or 3 months notice for Anguilla though he knew in August 2006 that he'd be playing the Dunes Preserve in March 2007.
I don't want to live on that kind of island
No, I don't want to swim in a roped off sea.
Too much for me, too much for me
I've got to be where the wind and the water are free.

I could deal with 2 or 3 months, but I won't be able to work with 2 or 3 WEEKS. :o

I don't care that much. I just think since he's been talking about this for more than a year if he's going to do it, it's time to make an announcement. s*** or get off the pot, people have to make plans if they're going to make this trip.

I'm already trying to figure out how to get a big sign into the pavillion at GW - too bad we aren't all sitting together - although I bet we could arrange that if we set our minds to it! :)

We just need to find someone really techy to hijack the teleprompter and have it say, "Buffettnews wants a Tahiti date - NOW"
