4 weeks from now we will probably be riding the Killamanjaro ride and then the Kali River Rapids and then heading over to the Dawa Bar for a delicious Margarita or Tusker Ale. I am glad to see you have been updating you daily photo screensaver. Look out for the Yehti!Cane Garden Bay wrote:The Chinese are very clever about their beer, I will keep consuming TSINGO until I reach the best one!!!!
This time, we'll be at the Old Key West resort!alaura1974 wrote:I dont know if anyone else has suggested this yet or not, but if you go into downtown Disney, make sure that you go to the Adventurers ?CLub, but find out when their show times are........ it is quirky, but REALLY cool!!
Here is a great website too..... www.allearsnet.com
Or get the Birnbaum book, there is a lot of info in there too.
But allearsnet.com has a ton of information including menus from all of the restaurants.
Where are you staying???
I second this, allears.net is a great resource. Intercot.com has an excellent message board community as well. Between the two I have co-ordinated many a Disney trip.alaura1974 wrote:I dont know if anyone else has suggested this yet or not, but if you go into downtown Disney, make sure that you go to the Adventurers ?CLub, but find out when their show times are........ it is quirky, but REALLY cool!!

Thanks...that's really good info! We're going in October so this is really good to know.UpstateNYPH wrote:Just returned from four days at Old Key West resort. By far my favorite resort I have stayed at on Disney, even though I did not get to spend as much time there as I would like. It is very quite and quaint, and I like that. My girlfriend and I hit every park hard, and we finished almost every ride in Magic Kingdom from 7am-9am one day. That's hardcore! We definetly took advantage of the extra magic hours. Our daily plan would pretty much consist of getting to whatever park had extra magic at 7am (Magic Kingodm had Extra Magic every day that week), and then we would come back to Old Key West in the afternoon when the park was busiest and relax/take a nap. Then we would head back out for dinner and extra magic evening hours at whatever park had them. We finished 4 parks in 3 days and just relaxed and shopped on the fourth day before our nighttime flight. It was fun but crazy! I have to say my favorite rides are Soarin and Expedition Everest. Tip: do expedition everest right when the park opens, the line never dies down after that, even during evening EMH, and do Soarin right when the park opens or about 5 minutes after illuminations starts.
All in all in 4 days we only waited in line for 3 rides (test track, mission space, and peter pan) The rest of the rides we walked right on or waited less than 10 minutes, and this was the busiest week (minus xmas) of the year...
You just have to know when to hit the rides. People dont like getting to a park at 6:50 in the morning, but it is worth it because no one is there and you walk onto all the rides...
Welcome back. Sounds like you had fun and may need a vacation to rest from your vacationUpstateNYPH wrote:Just returned from four days at Old Key West resort. No but I had some Animal Kingdom themed beer, it wasnt that greatContinentalDrifterIII wrote:Welcome back. The last time we were there we did the same thing, got there as it opened and ran to the ride. I should have recommended to you the Dawa Bar in the Animal Kingdom for THE BEST MARGARITAS. Did you happen to try one?
Just curious what you thought about Mission Space? Did you go on the "Spinning" one?UpstateNYPH wrote:Just returned from four days at Old Key West resort. How was Teppan Edo? I was a big fan of Teppanyaki Grill and have ADRs for Teppan Edo in June.UpstateNYPH wrote:No but I had some Animal Kingdom themed beer, it wasnt that greatContinentalDrifterIII wrote:Welcome back. Got to Teppan Edo in Japan and drank my fill of Kirin, and then had some Reef amber at the Coral Reef, and a tall Yuengling at the 50's Prime Time Cafe, just to name a few. I got my drinks in![]()
They remodeled the restaurant, and two restaurants are located in that pavillion. Teppan Edo, and another restuarant which is just a regular sit down japanese restaurant. I did the hibachi one years ago, and it was so-so, but this time since the remodel and new name (Teppan Edo), it was EXCELLENT. I have been to A LOT of hibachi grills, and this one definetly ranks as one of my favorites. I would highly recommend Teppan Edo.ConchRepublican wrote:How was Teppan Edo? The barf bag freaked my girlfriend out, LOL. Yes, I did orange, which was the more intense one. I couldnt believe it when there were 7 year old kids in line with us, I am surprised they can handle it. Did I like mission space? Yes, because they simulate being in a space shuttle amazingly. Would I do it again? Probably not. It was very intense. Fun, but intense. I dont think I like feeling all that pressure in my head. I love crazy rides, rollercoasters, whatever, but I did feel a bit nauseous during that ride. I guess it was just a little too real for me. I can see how that kid could have died when it first opened. Between the anxiety and the G-forces, it is A LOT to handle.bbqmonster wrote:Just curious what you thought about Mission Space? I went on the spinning one, and at first I liked it, but then I started to feel a little sick about an hour after the ride. That is the only ride I have ever been on that had a "Barf Bag" right in front of your seat.

I will be right behind you. We have 31 days to Key West & 34 Days to Orlando.Cane Garden Bay wrote:Only 26 days to Orlando Margaritaville & WDW!!! Can't wait!!! Volcano Nachos here I come.
Great advice on Expedition Everest--both times we rode it, we got there as the park opened. Last time we maybe waited 5-10 minutes. We want to check out the Yak & Yeti restaurant too. Can't wait to get to Old Key West--did you go down the new slide? I know ContinentalDrifterIII will!!UpstateNYPH wrote:Just returned from four days at Old Key West resort. Then I am really behind with 203 days to go! But am looking forward to next Tuesday--April 1--as the park hours for October will come out. And then on April 18, I can make my ADRs at the 180 mark. Not long now! Ha!ConchRepublican wrote:Man, I'm lagging behind at 72 days to Disney and 76 to Key Largo . . .bbqmonster wrote:I will be right behind you.
