Although I can't bring myself to say that there is a bad Buffett song, I will have to agree that Elvis Imitators isn't his best. I agree with an earlier post that it was probably intended that way. Even though most of us in this thread have it in our worst list, we all have hummed a few bars of it to ourselves, maybe when noone else was around we even belted out a few lines. I'm doing it right now and I can't stop! I change my mind, I love this song!

How about least favorite album? I vote either Hot Water or Fruitcakes. While there are a few good songs on each, they're just not quite up to par.

I find it hard to pick a "bad" Buffett song. It seems so negative. But after researching I concluded that yes, indeed, "Something so Feminine" doesn't get any airplay in my house, "Math Sux" is down right pathetic, and "Elvis Imitators" is a joke. But Jimmy Buffett has never written a bad song. By the way, when I'm at the Cincy show next Tuesday, I hope the band plays "If I Could Just Get It On Paper", I can't believe someone thought this was a "bad song".

I can hardly bear to read these posts. You know, in over 25 years of being a parrothead, I can't name a "worst song". Not all may touch me or move me at a particular time, but each has impacted somewhere somehow. And some so deeply my life has been forever changed. JUST LIKE ALL OF YOU!!

There are some of his songs I don't care a lot for, but it's bound to happen when you have an ass load of songs like Jimmy. The ones that come to mind are;

1. My Barracuda - Just too different, lasts forever.
2. Elvis Imitators - perhaps it was supposed to be that bad.
3. Math s***s - Why would any adult write a song like this?
4. What if the Hokey-Pokey - see Math s***s
5. Autour Du Rocher - I don't know what is going on with this one.

All of this being said, I'd rather listen to any of these than most of the s*** on popular radio.

Some of these are crazy. Like Death of an Unpopular Poet and Fool Botton 2 great songs and Why don't we get drunk that is a classic how could you say that is a bad song.

Others I agree with
Math Sucks
Elvis Imitators
Hokey Pokey
My Head hurts etc

You can be a huge fan of an artist and still admit that not everything he/she has done is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL... people who are bad-mouthing other people for having their own opinions about songs need to relax a bit. Just because you don't like a song or two doesn't mean you're any less of a fan. We all hit skip every now and then. :roll:

I will say truthfully I can't find one of his songs that I dislike, oh, there are some that I prefer over others, but none that I can say I just don't care for. :wink:
