I've been lurking here for years, but rarely post. I will be there if I can get tickets...already booked the Holiday Inn and it's non-refundable, so all my fingers are crossed!

I do have a question, if no one minds. I seem to be reading about a lot of people having difficulty getting tickets in the past, or being afraid of not being able to get them for Philly. I was at Foxboro last year and had no problem getting floor tickets through TM (granted, it was the second show), maybe I just got really lucky (?). I've never used comcasttix before, should I expect problems? I plan on taking the morning off that day and being online as soon as it opens for purchases, but honestly, I really don't even want tickets unless I can get them for floor seats (just a personal preference)...

You should be alright at CBP, the problem in Philly is with the tweeter center. Tickets there sell out in less the 20 seconds it seems. I have always been able to get tickets through ticketmast no problem. However I know alot of people who didn't have my luck. [smilie=asa.gif]

Last time Jimmy played CBP there were tons of people trying to unload tix at the tailgate. Lots of people seemed to think they would "scalp" and ended up being lucky if they got face value.

I will second that. The day before the show I ended up scoring face value tickets front row, in front of JB's mic.

That is the only reason I like stadium shows. I can always get up close.

I think there were a lot more extras for the Thursday show...seemed like everyone had extras that night.

Has anyone seen any price levels?

Okay, since the Texas show is having a pre-sale, I'm pretty much assuming the Philly show will also have a pre-sale since he's playing a ballpark in both. And also assuming that since there was a pre-sale in 2005 for CBP, that should also indicate a pre-sale this year.

AND, since the Texas presale will start on the Wednesday before the Official sale of tickets, I'm also assuming the same will hold for Philly. So, on all these assumptions, the Philly presale should start on Wednesday, March 5 !

Quite a bit of assuming, isn't it?

I would LOVE to go to this concert........or tailgate at the very least! I'm afraid if i don't, JB might go and retire on me! :o

Don't know if hubby will be interested, but I'll go by myself if i must. Going to keep checking this thread for info......perhaps the tailgate has room for one more? [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Since i've never been, (though i'm sure this has been posted a zillion times) what are some ticket price ranges? I don't need fancy special seats. Just curious as to what to budget.

Tailgate

Post by BFinnsUp »

We haven't done a concert in Philly before. Is there a good tailgate area? Where?

Thanks.

there are multiple [parking lots surrounding the stadium. Did anyone tailgate in FDR park last time? I wonder if they crack down on the drinkin in the park?

Cell phone list

Post by Poconoparrothead »

Looks like we got at least 8 going so far! Keep me on the cell phone list. We booked 2 rooms at the Holiday Inn/Stadium and as of today they are sold out of rooms. We missed everyone last year due to traffic, heat and other issues but since we are staying at the stadium we wont miss out this year! Looking forward to June as we have our annnual Key West trip booked 3 days after the show! Perfect timing, thanks Jimmy!

as far as the drinking goes, there is nothing the PhilaPD can do with to make 60,000 people stop drinking in the parking lot of a Buffett concert.

Just be smart about it. Get yourself a Koozie for your can so the cops can't tell if it's Coors Light or Sprite. OR pour your beverage into a SOLO cup. As long as you are not walking around with an open container, we all will be fine.
