Houston Rumor???
I am seeing that Houston is a rumor on the tour site. I am sure hoping he comes back to Minute Maid on Saturday, April 19th.

This is from one of Sonny Landeth's sites:
Sonny has plans to play several shows with Jimmy Buffett this year. He'll first be playing in Houston with Buffett in April (around the Houston Intl Festival date). He'll be playing with Jimmy at Margaritaville on May 1 and at JazzFest on May 3.
There are some June dates as well - early June in Atlanta and Durham, mid June in NY and Philly. And at many of these larger venues the entire band will play a mini set during the Buffett break. Very Happy
Stay tuned for more details.

Well the Houston International Festival is a two weekend event, and the first weekend is April 19-20. If true it will not be at Minute Maid since the Astros are at home. That would leave the Toyota Center or The Woodlands Pavilion.flipflopgirl wrote:This is from one of Sonny Landeth's sites:

Got this in my google search inbox today..
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/hea ... 76202.html
Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band played last April 21 at Minute Maid Park. They drew 40,000 fans. The show was a spectacular success. Fans loved it. Astros management loved it. Buffett loved it. Even the Astros ground crew loved it. Not one blade of grass was damaged.
I'm noticing that the Astros are making like Willie Nelson, on the road again from April 23 to the end of the month. Buffett will be in Texas anyway, since he's playing Dallas on April 26.
Do I have to drop a bigger hint?
So does he mean he is dropping a hint that Buffett IS playing at MM Park....or that he is dropping a hint that he wants Buffett to play

I think the closest Margaritaville to New Orleans Jazz Fest is the one in New Orleans.Conolulu wrote:flipflopgirl wrote:This is from one of Sonny Landeth's sites:

Well he did respond, and here is what he answered to the above question.txaggirl91 wrote:im sure he will respond and say "i haven't heard anything"diverg wrote:Ok I just sent Ken Hoffman an email asking for the JB date in Houston. Anyone want to place odds on a response?
That I don't know.
It's still in the rumor stage, but if I were betting 25 cents, I'd say Minute Maid Park on the 24th or 28th.
But I'm wrong a lot.

Yes Ken is a nice guy, somewhat of a smartass, but we love him anyway. Oh BTW, you can tune into his radio show M-F, Noon to 2 pm on 1560 the GAME. It's a mainly sports talk show, but for those two hours Hoffey and his little buddy Gilligan talk about sort of stuff. For us Houston BNer's PHer's, he talks his shhow to Dimarus (sp) BBQ on Shepherd on Wednesday. We should plan a roadie and invade the place. I vote for 3-19, becasue we're on Spring Break.springparrot wrote:glad you got a response---Ken's a nice guy.diverg wrote:Well he did respond, and here is what he answered to the above question.txaggirl91 wrote:im sure he will respond and say "i haven't heard anything"diverg wrote:Ok I just sent Ken Hoffman an email asking for the JB date in Houston.
