From the Chicago Sun Times: "Parrot Heads to get new roost ... Jimmy Buffett abandons Tinley Park for Bridgeport's Toyota Park" and from the Southtown Star: "Toyota Park tries to avoid feeding frenzy"

After 17 seasons of basing his Chicago area shows at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater in Tinley Park (and before that Poplar Creek), Buffett announced that on July 24 and 26 he'll make his debut at Toyota Park, 71st and Harlem in Bridgeview. The southwest suburb is welcoming Buffett's tailgating flock of Parrot Heads with open arms.
In Tinley Park, that wasn't always the case. Hardcore tailgaters from Chicago migrate instead to Buffett's shows at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wis., where they're as accepted as beer and cheese.

"We did the same thing last year with Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival," he said. "I waited in line to get tickets, then went home and called Ticketron and got eight tickets.
TICKETRON!? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. I haven't heard that one in years . . . I wonder if he camped out at Rose Records.

The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

This author is one who has been a big Buffett supporter over the years, so I am willing to cut him some slack on this kind of error.weirdo0521 wrote:I think it is time for the Sun Times to get a new fact checker. A little off on when JB last played Poplar Creek.

Yes, Dave is usually pretty good. Just a pet peeve of mine when you can't get factual information right. Probably would have taken about 2 minutes of research.ejr wrote:This author is one who has been a big Buffett supporter over the years, so I am willing to cut him some slack on this kind of error.weirdo0521 wrote:I think it is time for the Sun Times to get a new fact checker.
