"Seat snob"?

Post by bonefish »

Just wondering how many other self proclaimed seat snobs are out there?
Roll with the punches

Make the best of whatever came his way
What he lacked in ambition
He made up with intuition

When I go to a concert, I want to be as close as possible. But, I'm not a snob to the point that I'd choose no seats over bad seats.

I prefer the lawn.

Gotta have pavilion. For the seats (I'm old) and in case it rains (I melt).

I'd rather know I have a seat. You can stay in the lot longer and know that you won't be standing at the top of the lawn. Plus If I slip in the lawn I don't want to take others with me :o

"what exactly is a seat snob?

For example, I don't think I've sat in the lawn in 10 years. In my younger years, I didn't mind the lawn because I was usually too drunk to notice the difference. But now, it would have to be absolute desperation for me to sit in the lawn. I realize that lawn seats are $100 less than pavilions, but, I really don't even like sitting in the second section of the pavilion.

While some people are just happy to be there, I want to get as close as possible for the right price.

I honestly prefer to sit in the pavillion, but I've moved back to the lawn. It's $100.00 per person cheaper & I have a child to feed.

I just can't "do" the lawn anymore....by back can't take it. I'll just cough up the extra $$ and sit in a seat.

okay - got it

hello, I'm caribbean soul man and I'm a seat snob. 8)

I've been a seat snob for several years now. Primarily because my wife and I just don't like having to "defend" a 2'x2' plot of grass/dirt/mud from invasion by well-intended drunken parrot heads.

I know, I know, "the REAL parrot heads are up on the lawn..."
well if you've enjoyed a Buffett concert from the first few rows at Riverbend, believe me, there are some REAL parrot heads down there too

And it rarely rains on the orchestra pit...unless you're in Charlotte :-?

Will not sit in lawn. Seats must also be close enough to see stage. If I don't like the seat location, I will skip the show. That is for concerts, for theater, I am even more difficult - first 8 rows center of orchestra or first 3 rows center of balcony.

My friends and I yelled Uncle yesterday and decided to avoid Ticket Master hell that took place for a lot of folks today. We are in the pavilian at the first Chicago show. The seats are not the greatest, but today, I am just very glad that I am going to be at this show and have my first JB concert experience. Just being there outweighed the need to be picky.

I am a seat snob and I say it proudly! I Don't care if the party on the lawn is better, I am there to see Jimmy! If I want to party, I get my fill in the parking lot.
Thanks Pop for introducing me to the music, you will always be my favorite Jimmy!!

I agree with you on the balcony, which is about my favorite place for theater, especially a musical. But the first few rows on the main floor are really too close for my taste--I lose all perspective from that close. And on a musical, I want to see the whole stage.
