My first 10 Buffett shows were in Madison Square Garden and Jones Beach. The Garden obviously doesn't have a lawn. Jones Beach doesn't either, it's a 3 level amphitheater with all reserved seating. I got used to having a reserved seat and my own space, no matter how small it may have been. I'll take pavilion or I'll stay home.

UPON FURTHER REVIEW,
I was on the lawn in Atlanta in 2002.

Yep.. yep.. :D

Ditto....I did lawn a few years ago in Tampa..and pavillion since then...

I'd rather tailgate, and sit and listen to Sirius than do lawn again...but that's just me...

Pavilion....and it has to be the lower sections( if i'm paying 136.00).... I did lawn in Chicago last year...actually i had a seat and watched from there for a few songs ...then joined friends on the lawn....it was actually a lot of fun!!...and if ticket prices keep skyrocketing...i may frequent it a few more times

I normally prefer a seat...mid-level is just fine... not paying $200+ for the same songs I've seen for years.
The lawn at both Coors and Irvine Meadows are "a mile" from the stage.

It's one "luxury" that I insist on now 8) :pirate:

Not to mention that the parking lots are "a mile" from the venues

I'm a seat snob nowadays as well. I did lawn for years at Pine Knob, back when you could actually walk up to the ticket booth on the day of the concert and STILL get a ticket. I had a great time on the lawn all through college and a few years after.

But then I got really tired of being bumped, knocked over, thrown up on, and generally bothered by the "youngins" who were there for the party and not necessarily the music. I found myself getting down right irritated with them as they talked through songs that weren't on "That yellow cd in the car" and cried because the boy or girl they liked was now making out with someone else.

That, coupled with the fact that you couldn't get tickets and had to resort to scalpers made me a seat snob. If I have to pay through the nose to go to a concert, I at least want to be next to others who are there for the same reasons and know all the words to the songs.

Don't get me wrong--a lawn seat is still a seat in the venue and I won't pass it up (one of these years he is going to retire, and I would hate to think that my snobbiness caused me to miss his "last" concert.) But if given the option, give me a seat. :)
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

I guess I'm a seat snob.... I want to hear the music and see the band.... and my back and knees no longer do well standing on the sloping lawn.....

I've seen "the man" 8-9 times at Nissan - always in the lawn. I do love that experience. Lost my crew one year (after making a beer run) and partied w/ some of the best parrot heads around. I have always said that I wanted to be up close - just 1 time. We have lawn tickets for Sat, and sec 301 for Mon. Thats not anywhere close to where I would have liked to have been, but you guys all know how it goes....

The best seats I ever had were at Great Woods Section 2 Row B Seats 35 and 36, which -- for those who know Great Woods, that is pretty much front row since Row A ended about 10 seats to the right of them.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

Out of the 4 shows I been to, 3 where inside. I payed 250 bucks for two floor seats in vegas, just to not see the stage. we could have paid less for a better seat actually.

Dad bought me and my sister amp tickets for the tampa show for a christmas present last year. I was bummed all my friends where on the lawn but.... SSSSOOOOO glad that I wasn't after I heard about all the shoving and pushing.

I have been on the lawn for many a chesney concert and I have to say I prefer it. Grass on my feet, personal dancing space, easy way to the bathrooms.

I love jimmy, but If I want to go to several shows a season (hoping to get to at least 4 this year) I can't be shelling out 150 per for seats as a college student. 150 bucks is a weeks work for me more or less. Especially when that extra 100 bucks can go to through an awsome tailgate and split gas with my friends.

I just want to hear jimmy, dance around, and drink a beer. I can do that in the comfort of the lawn.
