Gates generall open betwen 10 - 11am and they have charged $20 for anyone arriving before 4pm.Landshark Girl wrote:Never been to see Jimmy in Atlanta but thinking about going to this show. Can anyone tell me about the venue? Any information is apprecaited.
south lot (gravel side between the creek and the hill) is the best.
Tix day of show in the lot are usually easy to get
Coolers, tents, lawn chairs, beads and boobs work well there
Hot chicks get free shots of something
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

That all sounds good to me. I think I may have to get myself to Atlanta on June 5th!12vmanRick wrote:Gates generall open betwen 10 - 11am and they have charged $20 for anyone arriving before 4pm.Landshark Girl wrote:Never been to see Jimmy in Atlanta but thinking about going to this show. Question: My friend mentioned something about a really good public transportation system in Atlanta...I can't remember what it is called. Is this an option as far as transportation to the show...we're trying to avoid having to drive. Just wondering how close the public transport stop is to Lakewood Amphitheater.

Lots of free stuff in the parking lot, food, booze, leis,,,almost worth not taking anything and counting on the generosity of others. Being a Thursday show should work well because folks will take the two days off and showup early. Or maybe that's just my plan.....Lakewoods web site says no alcohol in the parking lots....yeah right! The police horses will be dressed for the occasion. June shouldn't be too hot and maybe the afternoon thunderstorms will exclude themselves from making an appearence.
The area around Lakewood isn't as bad as it once was, a lot of money going into that area for residential and commercial development. The better hotels are near the airport just to the south.

I really don't know how close but you could take a cab from the transit to the venue at the worst. Also, I don't know what times it runs until. I rarely use it and the only reason we do now is because it's FINALLY conveniet to Phillips.Landshark Girl wrote:That all sounds good to me. but let me add this, Lakewood is centrally located in crack ho and just plain ho and crime ridden central.
