Just found out the "official" word from Lakewood is that the gates will open at 1pm, and that the police will "run off" anyone lined up earlier. I've seen these "official" pronouncements before, and they've been ignored, but that's what they're saying right now.

Haven't been to Lakewood since the '99 show. What's the status of tailgating there as far as best places to park and places you're free to drink and behave like, well, a Parrothead? As much as I'm glad Buffett is playing outdoors in ATL again, The Gulch near Philips sure was a convenient and fun place to tailgate for last year's show. Plus, we had a hotel downtown and could leave the truck there overnight.

OK, no real big plans this year this work thing is really getting in the way :D

We will be setting up in the gravel lot to the east of the amphitheater, hopefully same as 2006 if I can find that google map we had from then I will post it. It is going to be kind of a bring your own party I will have a pop up canopy, a full size table, 6 or 7 chairs, a Gas grill and Music for anyone to share. Bring your own drinks and food and you can cook it on the grill. We are going to try and get as close to the Meet the Phlockers crowd so we can enjoy their Live music they will be providing.
If you are flying in and getting food and drink are tough for you PM me and we will work something out. I am trying to make this as easy for everybody so we can actually enjoy this time and not constantly working on something at the tailgate. I am looking forward to seeing old and new friends and I hope everyone will join us at "THE DAWGPOUND".

I'm staying with a friend in Woodstock, so bring food and drink to share is no problem for me.

Two weeks from now, I'll be on the road to Atlanta!!!

I am very exicted. The tailgating near the meet the pholkers site sounds like a good idea.

Very important question is there shade at or near this parking spot?

I am thinking hotlanta sun without tree shade= absoultely vital to bring some source of man made shade.

We had a wall in front of us last time that had trees, if we get stuck in the middle of the lot it is nothing but wide open grass field. :D

Two weeks from tomorrow we will all be tailgating in Atlanta! Can't wait! Hopefully I'll get to meet some of you down there. Where is everyone going to be, again? I've never been to this venue before so I'm going to be completely lost, I'm afraid.
