Aw, C'mon R2. You should make the trip. I met a couple of ladies in the chat rooms that I'm supposed to be meeting in the lot beforehand. I'd be happy to introduce you to them. [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

True. Since I'm going to both, I'm very interested to see how they compare.
FunkHouse9 wrote:I've stayed away from the thread because I feel like I want to ration my excitement. It's hard to stay pumped up all summer until September for a show you got tickets to back in March.
I feel ya. It's like 'out of site, out of mind'. Well get pumped man! It's DAYS away!!!
FunkHouse9 wrote:I have naive faith that this show is going to be particularly good. When my daughter was born in March, I heard a block of Buffett along with the concert announcement as we got in the car and drove home from the hospital. Then the tickets went on sale on my birthday. Nothing else particularly interesting or special beyond that. But, I'm hoping there's some kind of sign in there.
Well, naive faith is better than none at all! I'm hoping so too. I've never been to a "labor day weekend show" and now I get TWO! I'm hoping Monday's tops the scale. Great story BTW. I think we could do a whole thread on Jimmys songs popping up at opportune times...wait, there probably already has been one or twelve.

FunkHouse9 wrote:I'm still praying to hear Nautical Wheelers. I'm so disappointed that he pulled it out a couple shows ago. I feel like that killed my chances of hearing it.

Who knows.. there are 4 or 5 songs Id love to hear. At any rate, at the very least we will see Jimmy again, and (hopefully) be able to meet some new BN family! Hope to see ya there!

I'm like Funkhouse9, showing up late on this thread, but better late than never! I'm looking forward to seeing all the phine pholks I met in Charlotte and meeting more BN'ers at the shows on 8/30 and 9/1!

Also, thanks to Pema for compiling the contact lists!

Page 1 updated by popular demand........

Is there any interest in caravaning to the venue? :pirate:
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

I will _____ for gumbo

Post by baadbobby »

rum.man wrote:By the way, I'm planning on cookin' up a whole mess o' gumbo. The only thing is that I need a heat source, preferably an electric eye.

I can offer payment in delicious sangria and tasty gumbo if somebody wants to link up and provide the heat!

PM me and let's get together.
I will provide heat for gumbo. No electric eye, but a 2 burner camp stove w/propane. We're staying overnight in Falls Church, checking out by noon, hope to be parked in either the VIP lot, or along the road, by 2:30pm. I'll need to know by Saturday night if I'm packin' propane or not. I'm curious about the whole VIP lot deal too; I don't have a problem waiting in long lines to get to Nissan, but I live 100 miles away and need to go to work sometime on Tuesday. I have been stuck in the lot at Nissan for close to 3 hours before. If I can't get VIP, I'm parking on the grass, on the hill, between entrances on the road, but I would bring the stove to your camp...for gumbo.
