Mrs. TR's everyday drink is rum, ice and oranje juice
Mine is rum and diet coke when I'm on the road. I even bought a plastic flask so I don't have to try to find rum while I'm traveling for business. It's harder than heck when you land in a state that has state run liquor stores that close at 5:00 PM everyday..... Like Texas, Utah, Oregon and the list goes on and on. More than once my friends with TSA have wrinkled my clothes to see what was in the flask at the bottom of my suit case.
Tonight it's rum and Sobe's diet grapefruit, a manly pink drink
Brinley Gold Lime Rum = I have never seen this. I love Brinley's Vanilla, coconut and even mango in the right thing.
Gosslings when I want dark rum. I've never tried Sailor Jerry's. I thought it would be a bit like the margaritville.
Navy Seals are Cooler then Pirates You Can Dream Anyway, There's always next year!!!

She really should try that with Brinley Gold Vanilla rum - it is unbelievable!!
Tequila Revenge wrote:Dare I ask where do you buy all this exotic rum? Not in our grocery stores We typically do not do liquor stores in CA That would require extra effort
We have a great liquor store near us that carries well over a 100 different rums, but we have ordered online from the link below too.

Mrs Z loves the Brinley lime in a diet 7-up
Sailor Jerry is actually a pretty good spiced rum
It is stronger than Captain Morgan, (higher proof, more flavor)
Anything the Captain can do, Sailor Jerry can do better!

Plantation from Venezuela. Amazing. Just not so easy to find since crazy Hugo took over the country.
Otherwise, Pyrat does just fine.
Perfect rum serving:
1 1/2 shot in short, tumbler style glass
medium size ice cubes
small lime wedge.
summertime heaven
if it's winter, same as above but just substitute Basil Hayden Bourbon
and use very small lime wedge.
YUMMY
I don't want to live on that kind of island
No, I don't want to swim in a roped off sea.
Too much for me, too much for me
I've got to be where the wind and the water are free.

My favorite Venzuelan rum is still Cacique
First tried it in a bull ring in San Cristobal, Venezuela back in the 70s
couldn't get it here for a long time, but it is pretty easy to find now.
It is an inexpensive, flavorful rum with a pretty good burn to it.
Diplomatico Reserva is my favorite higher end Venezuelan rum
I like Sailor Jerry, but he gives me a hangover that the Capt doesn't. That said, I like both with Ginger Ale with a slice of lime. Been drinking this since Reagan was President, before rum was fashionable to drink. I do drink Bacardi on ocaasion, but only in mojitos, which we do drink most of the summmer. We have a large Mint bush in the garden for just the occasion. While I tend to drink more rum than any other liquor, when it comes to quality sipping liquors, I tend to stick with Tequila. I love to sip Herraduras with a Corona chaser.

Wife and I came up with this for the 6/14 show at CBP. Not frozen but could be I suppose. We chose to share these "shots" with a few blonde strangers via 60cc syringes (sans needle). Recipe as follows:
1 part banana liqueur
1 part Pineapple Juice
1 part Orange Juice
1 part sweet & sour
half part light rum
half part mango rum.
Pretty benign alcohol content but very tasty. Pics are on their way.
