Anyone ever tried the Brazilian version of a Mojoito? I forget the name, I've never tried...
It is made with lime and cachaca (brazillian rum made from sugar cane rather than molasses).
The caipirinha is really refreshing when made with a reasonably good cachaca.
Beleza Pura makes a pretty good caipirinha (using their own premium cachaca)
and the RUM is for all your good vices....

try the Cruzan Blackstrap in a Dark and Stormy..Hockey Mon wrote:For Dark 'N Stormys, you gotta have the Goslings.spadilly wrote:What's your favorite and how are some ways you drink it?
I also like rum mixed with OJ and Pineapple juice. I have no idea what it is called; someone please tell me if they know.
And I enjoy drinking them while sitting in a lawn chair in the parking lot at Nissan on the day of a Buffett show.

Is that easier to get than Goslings? And, if I remember correctly, it's the ginger beer that really makes the Dark 'N Stormy. I've never had them any other way so I don't know. I believe someone mentioned it on BN before. If that's the case, I need to go and order me some online because I've never seem it sold at any store 'round here.ragtopW wrote:try the Cruzan Blackstrap in a Dark and Stormy..Hockey Mon wrote:For Dark 'N Stormys, you gotta have the Goslings.spadilly wrote:What's your favorite and how are some ways you drink it?

They make a 4 star?!! We could only find 2 and 3 star in PR, and haven't been able to find it since. Tom's about ready to do a run to the PR airport and back for it.12vmanRick wrote:

We just got back from the Keys, and brought back 2 bottles of Zaya and one of the Ron Zacapa Centenario. If I would have known the Ron Zacapa was scarce, I would have bought more.

I was hoping for the former. I wasn't sure what the second one had to do with rum, but my French isn't good and I just quoted.NEO wrote:RinglingRingling wrote:d*m... you bringing that to KW?[/quote
I have a bottle of the second label I thought it was the worlds worst vanilla
as in for baking.. I'll have to try it as rum. Bought on SXM a few years ago.

From a few years back.. Does it come in a leather bag?( it was work related I took tons of supplies and had empty suit cases to fill to bring home)
BTW Vanilla Rum punch.. I never paid attention to it.
It has a small bottle of vanilla extract taped to it.. I thought it was for refilling.
I still think The travelers one barrel is the best. (belize)
If I could get the stuff here I cold give up the Pusser's.
Although the stuff they make at Callwood at CGB is great as well.

I discovered the Ma Doudou Rum after dinner in St Barts many years ago. After we were done with dinner they brought out a bottle and poured a shot for each person at the table, sort of like an after dinner mint or something. One night they left the whole bottle in the middle of table, no charge. A few places there still do that today.NEO wrote:RinglingRingling wrote:d*m... you bringing that to KW?[/quote

Finally tired one of these last weekend. Really good. It's a mojito without the club soda and mint.
