The caipirinha is probably what you are referring to.
It is made with lime and cachaca (brazillian rum made from sugar cane rather than molasses).

The caipirinha is really refreshing when made with a reasonably good cachaca.

Beleza Pura makes a pretty good caipirinha (using their own premium cachaca)

I agree with Z-man...I love Caipirinhas....they're like a mojito on steroids...Mmmmmmm :D
Yes, these are my next "drink of the day" I want to try....... :pirate:

My father in law drinks Bacardi and Sprite. Not sure how anyone could survive the sweetness factor of that cocktail....

For Dark 'N Stormys, you gotta have the Goslings.
I also like rum mixed with OJ and Pineapple juice. I have no idea what it is called; someone please tell me if they know.

And I enjoy drinking them while sitting in a lawn chair in the parking lot at Nissan on the day of a Buffett show. :D
try the Cruzan Blackstrap in a Dark and Stormy.. 8)

Is that easier to get than Goslings? And, if I remember correctly, it's the ginger beer that really makes the Dark 'N Stormy. I've never had them any other way so I don't know. I believe someone mentioned it on BN before. If that's the case, I need to go and order me some online because I've never seem it sold at any store 'round here.

They make a 4 star?!! We could only find 2 and 3 star in PR, and haven't been able to find it since. Tom's about ready to do a run to the PR airport and back for it.

We just got back from the Keys, and brought back 2 bottles of Zaya and one of the Ron Zacapa Centenario. If I would have known the Ron Zacapa was scarce, I would have bought more.

I was hoping for the former. I wasn't sure what the second one had to do with rum, but my French isn't good and I just quoted. :D

I think I have a bottle or 2 of that from My SA trip to Argentina and Ven.
From a few years back.. Does it come in a leather bag?( it was work related I took tons of supplies and had empty suit cases to fill to bring home)

BTW Vanilla Rum punch.. I never paid attention to it.
It has a small bottle of vanilla extract taped to it.. I thought it was for refilling.

I still think The travelers one barrel is the best. (belize)
If I could get the stuff here I cold give up the Pusser's.

Although the stuff they make at Callwood at CGB is great as well.

in Idaho.. Sometimes the Goslings is not available..
the Cruzan maybe is a little sweeter...

the Barritts is hard to get... order it on the net..
the Regatta isn't too bad. ( I would hate to do a blind taste test)

I discovered the Ma Doudou Rum after dinner in St Barts many years ago. After we were done with dinner they brought out a bottle and poured a shot for each person at the table, sort of like an after dinner mint or something. One night they left the whole bottle in the middle of table, no charge. A few places there still do that today.

You betcha, the boat is always stocked, and if the weather sucks, I'll transfer it to the car. Yup, Anniversario and cigars on board are in order.

Finally tired one of these last weekend. Really good. It's a mojito without the club soda and mint. Good stuff
