I know I can picture him in one... I assumed he must have been a big fan even back then to do that.
Yep. TS grew up in SoCal but he was born in Detroit and is a huge Tigers fan. Therefore, Magnum was a Tigers fan. In one episode, in 1983, Alan Trammell and Lou Whitaker played themselves, ran into Magnum in a bar and give him a ticket to the game.

Selleck, in 1992.... I wonder if it was that for the fun of it, or whether they were still shooting Mr. Baseball (1992), where he plays for the Tigers at the end of the movie, or whether it was a good deal, growing out of Mr. Baseball...
If I remember, he was working out with the Tigers in preparation for the movie. (or maybe he just finished filming?) Either way, he was in "baseball shape". Sparky Anderson put him out there for one at-bat. I never saw the movie, but I think he was a decent ballplayer. Seems like he also took batting practice at Tiger Stadium, too.

From yesterday's MLB transactions:
New York Yankees.....Released infielder Billy Crystal
If he could play 1B, I think he had a shot at making the roster.

I'll give him this, he had a decent looking swing for a 60 year old guy.
