I dont think it will be the end. Sirius is kind of the leader of the merger idea.

I doubt it, chances are Buffett signed a deal that allows him to keep it free online and on Sirius. Plus, Sirius would be the parent company, the merger is really Sirius taking over XM. Mel Karmazin who is the CEO of Sirius will be the CEO of the merged company and has been the one testifying in front of congress so he will be the guy in charge. The current XM CEO will be reassigned to a Chairman of the Board position. The people who should be concerned are Opie and Anthony. I doubt they will want Howard Stern and O and A going head to head at the same time. My guess is they move O and A to mid-day, leave Stern in the AM and leave Bubba late day.

This is one of the rarer merger cases of the Guppy swallowing the Whale...(keep it clean).

Yup!

But with the way things were going for XM, it wouldn't have been long before Sirius was the top dog. What was once a 3M lead in subscriptions for XM 2 year's ago is now down to about a half a million and the projections were by year's end Sirius and XM would be even.

"unique" programming will survive. The standard stations will be consolidated. XM users be prepared to change "upgrade" your receivers in the next 24 months if FCC approves. XM frequencies will probably go back to FCC.
