How About This Opening to "The Year of Still Here"

Post by Bfan53 »

OK, in 2007 JB & the CRB started the "Fins" intro for the first song on tour as a tease, but then rolled into "On The Road Again", a Willie Nelson cover......

I was thinking that maybe in 2008, after playing "Hot, Hot, Hot" which is a must-do thing, why not play the video "Here We Are" from the 2006 tour? That video ends with the words "Fins Up". The band then actually does "Fins" as the opening song to "The Year of Still Here" tour...... :pirate:

Seems like a perfect segway to me. What do you think? Or do you have another suggestion? After all, JB's "people" do monitor Buffett News, right? :o

I like the idea, but I think it would ruin Fins. Fins is best when you can see the whole crowd with their hands up. At the beginning of the show people are usually still coming in and getting settled down.

I actually prefer it when Jimmy does fins after the sun goes down. Last year he did it early in the set list and it was still daylight out. I just think it looks so much cooler at night. I'd like for him to put fins back into the second set or even the encore.

Whenever I hear it on RM I will most likely flip the station, just because I have heard it as many times as Margaritaville, but it is still a fun song for the shows, and I would miss it there.

Fins is a song that should (IMHO has to be played) toward the end. right off the bat, just ain't gonna work.

Love Fins. Prefer it in the second set. This song just makes me smile and I can't help but dance when I hear it. You should see my kids and I when we are in the car and it comes on ipod. We've got our fins going and we get looked at like we have been to one party too many. We get a great amusement out of blasting it loud and proud as people stare and shake their heads. :wench:

YES FINS in the second set at night!! Awesome!!

Definitely bring back, Here we are!!

Gotta admit we love blasting FINS when we are in the car also and of course doing the FIN dance. Many times we've gotten looked at like we're strange. But we don't care. We're having one *#)) of a good time!!

FINS UP!!

I'd like to see him kick off the whole she'bang with "TWIHWYWB". It's upbeat and jumps rights into things and would set the stage for a visit to that destination Southeast of Disorder.
