I've got several thoughts on this.

First, one of the reasons the big brewers aren't feeling this pinch is because if hops get into their watery products, it's a coincidence.

Second, one wonders if this is how the big brewers are trying to shut down microbrewing, by buying up all the hops even if they don't *use* the bloody things.

Third, I gotta get me some rhizomes and start growing again. :)

Grow your own, baby!

I've heard that this will kill most micro-brewers and brew pubs. When I seek one out I already pay big bucks. Is growing hops so difficult?

from what I got out of the article, the areas where most of the better hops are grown, have about the same weather as Utah..

don't know what else they use hops for, I'm not what you'd call a beer drinker...
