Insanely High Ticket Prices

Post by jsslep »

Is it just me, or is Buffett getting a little ridiculous with the ticket prices??!!! $226 to see a concert?? He can't even remember half the words to his songs. I can't beleive I"m saying these things either - I've been a Parrothead since the early 90's but these prices are out of control!!! Very disappointed Jimmy, very disappointed!

MSG: MEZZANINE LEVEL SEATING $51.50

Alpine Valley: LAWN $33.0

Atlantic City: LEVEL 300 SEATING $66.00

Nissan: GENERAL ADMISSION LAWN $36.00

Great Woods: LAWN IS GENERAL ADMISSION $36.00

These don't sound ridiculous to me.......

I can't afford to fly first class on an airplane, but I don't go around b*tching about how high first class tickets are.

Buffett's ticket prices are in line with the industry for a performer of his caliber.

Just some more info

Post by jsslep »

Sounds like I struck nerve Schoolgirl . . . anyway. For the AC show for example. Floor seats and the entire 100 level seats are $226. 200 Level seats are $156 with a small section at $96. Then the 300 level section which is 12 small sections with 2 rows each at $66.

I was just at a Keith Urban / Carrie Underwood concert at the same venue and paid $75 for a floor seat against the stage. I shook both Keith Urban's and Carrie Underwood's hand, two of the biggest country stars out now. So don't tell me that $226 is the going rate for concert tickets.

I might add that I had Front Row Center for Buffett's Columbia, SC show in 2003. $63 face value!! Explain to me how the price of a floor ticket quadrupled in 5 years. C'mon!!!

Havent you noticed his dramatic increase in popularity? That would explain the demand for tickets, hence the higher prices. You CAN NOT compare Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood to JB, thats just.....inhumane.

Wow! I am quite surprised that you all don't mind the drastic ticket increases over the years. If I can't compare JB to Keith Urban, then I can most definitley compare him to Kenny Chesney. Explain to me how Chesney, who sells out very quickly, can charge the same price for EVERY ticket in the venue?? Explain that to me. Floor seats are the same price as nosebleeds.

I'm as big a Parrothead as the next guy, believe it or not, but I can't ignore the fact that he is charging way too much for his shows. And don't use the excuse that there are cheap seats at every show . . . . no kidding!! Good luck getting them, that's the problem.

Prices will vary for the same artist at different venues in different regions of the country.

I'm not convinced that's the artist's fee, I've noticed that for different artists across the board.
And as mentioned above, popularity factors into it. Neither of the artists you mentioned could sell out a venue by themselves. Most acts these days have to multi-bill.
As far as Chesney, I'm going to his show in Frisco (Texas) & he will have Brooks & Dunn and LeAnn Rimes on the bill with him & prices vary by location. ;)

That being said, I wonder what the Stones or the Eagles would charge for that same AC seat? (Assuming they were to even play there. )
Some people never find it, some only pretend
But me, I just want to live happily ever after every now and then.

Yea buffett so much more popular! Yea right these prices are horrible. He can’t even sell out the places anymore because people don’t want to pay that much I can’t remember the last time you could get tickets days after they went on sale. MSG should have sold out in a few min. You still can get tickets just like nissan and AC. I’m going to all of them but the prices are *****!

Well, pick me up a couple for Great Woods then....I was online at 10am when ticketb@st@rd opened, and it was sold out in 2min....both dates...now lawn seats are going for $125 each on eBay....AND SELLING
Supply and demand my dear newbie....there's a new, younger generation out there wanting to join us, and they're willing to pay to play. It's either keep up, or stay home and listen to the show on RM....which Jimmy allows you to do for free.
Enjoy the shows this summer....I plan on enjoying a couple myself, even if I have to pay $125 apiece for tickets

Chesney also does a crapload more shows than JB, so it evens out. And thats the end of my argument.
