jsslep wrote:Is it just me, or is Buffett getting a little ridiculous with the ticket prices??!!! $226 to see a concert?? He can't even remember half the words to his songs. I can't beleive I"m saying these things either - I've been a Parrothead since the early 90's but these prices are out of control!!! Very disappointed Jimmy, very disappointed!
Be disappointed. In fact be so disappointed that you protest the prices by not buying any and don't go to the show. Be a person of principle. Stand by your outrage and let your actions tell your tale for you.

If you can't afford to go, have a party at home with your friends and listen for free online, we have all done that. I am thankful that we can do that for free.

Ticket prices on Ebay/stubhub have been around this level for years. Now jimmy is getting the $$ instead of the evil scalpers. Think of it as Jimmy doing his part to run the evil scalpers out of business. The high ticket prices are a good thing...if you hate evil scalpers.

Yah.....don't buy the tickets, in protest !
Start a website to get the news out, tell all your friends.
Get a country-wide protest going.

more tickies for ME !!!

Sorry...we're going to see JB in MSG in June and then again in AC in August! Life is too short and paying in the $100 a ticket range is just not over the top for something we love.

Spend it while you can
Money's contraband
You can't take it with you when you go

Spend it while you can
Before it's taken from your hand
There's no free ride in this carnival world
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say
I’m still gliding as I go flying down this endless wave

Yes, it's quite insane,
I think it hurts my brain.
But it cleans me out and then I can go on.

Somebody on another forum suggested I just stay at home and listen to the concert on Sirius. I had to explain to him that my car wouldn't fit on my deck.

You can also listen to Sirius and Margaritaville on your computer. We've plugged the laptop into the stereo a number of times...works great!

Yep, that's right. We "attend" just about every JB concert in the summer through the comfort of RadioMargaritaville, our computer, and a couple of chairs out on the deck! You know where to find us on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays!! [smilie=giggle.gif]

Even StubHub has plenty of upper level tickets for less than $130. Yes it is twice face, but they are available at a price anyone that wants to see Jimmy should be able to afford. So stop complaining and get out there and see him while he still tours.

Last time the Rolling Stones came to NY, top price was $450. Lots of other srtists passing through NY have charged $250+ the last couple of years. I think Jb's tickets are pretty fairly priced considering he only does 30 shows, +/-, every year.

Personally I'm happy to be able to buy them via Ticketmaster. Two years ago I got frozen out at MSG and had to go to Ebay. I got scammed on 4 tickets...spent over $500 and never got to see the concert! Some may find it troubling that we don't have to scramble but I am glad to pay the Ticketmaster fees... at least I know I am going to the MSG and AC shows and will not be standing outside p*** while others party with Jimmy!

PHISHEAD wrote:Yea buffett so much more popular! Yea right these prices are horrible. He can’t even sell out the places anymore because people don’t want to pay that much I can’t remember the last time you could get tickets days after they went on sale. MSG should have sold out in a few min. You still can get tickets just like nissan and AC. I’m going to all of them but the prices are *****!
Well, pick me up a couple for Great Woods then....I was online at 10am when ticketb@st@rd opened, and it was sold out in 2min....both dates...now lawn seats are going for $125 each on eBay....AND SELLING
Supply and demand my dear newbie....there's a new, younger generation out there wanting to join us, and they're willing to pay to play. It's either keep up, or stay home and listen to the show on RM....which Jimmy allows you to do for free.
Enjoy the shows this summer....I plan on enjoying a couple myself, even if I have to pay $125 apiece for tickets
Newbie Ive been on this board alot longer then you have and ive been to probably around 25 buffett shows.i just dont post all the time. Prices are *****. No artist should ask that much. But like i said im still going to 4 shows philly ac and both nissan shows because its so much fun. Ive bought a total of 20 tickets for all these shows and its cost me around $2500 way to much! Concerts are like drugs to me i must go to as many as i can!

Folks. Just have a good time. Do one JB show and use the money from the other shows you are missing for smaller acts. You'll see more rather then the same artist.

I have a horse you can beat

Post by parrotheadmom44 »

his name is Charlie Brown--- he is a bad bad bad boy and needs to be beaten!!

But seriously ya'all... this is really a dead horse -- everyone is entitled to their opinions. I must agree -- the AC show is outta control ticket price wise. there were very few if any cheap seats for that show-- I hear it's a great show -- thats why I am going and spending money on two shows again this year...Last year I did Camden and Orlando! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY -- LISTEN FOR FREE ON RM-- IT'S STILL AWESOME-- ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A LAPTOP -- WIRELESS INTERNET, A DECK AND A FEW BEVERAGES-- INVITE SOME FRIENDS -- IT'S ALL GOOD!!!!
