My skin doesn't do well with oily sunblock products....I sweat alot and hate the feeling.

Molly...... I got Aveeno oil-free SPF 30 for the keet for the cruise and she liked it. She uses that for her face but I bet you could use it for the rest of you too..... she has super sensitive skin and can have reactions to the most bland stuff but this worked great for her. She even got a tan which is not the norm for her....springparrot wrote:I used sun block this weekend and it said it was oil-free, but it wasn't.![]()

SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Molly, you might try the gel version of Bullfrog. I hate greasy stuff; this dries pretty quickly and most importantly, it stays on and does its job until you *wash* it off. Ten hours in tropical sun, in Anguilla, no shade, and I wasn't burned. I was the *slightest* bit pink, as if I'd spent 15 minutes in the sun unprotected. Under more normal sun exposure, I've never been burned using Bullfrog.

That stuff is amazing isn't it??? I had never heard of it before this year when a friend recommended it. No stores around here carried it, so we ordered it off Amazon.com It arrived in time for our Caribbean vacation and we loved it. First vacation in a long time that neither of us got any burn at all.Bob Roberts wrote:I've had several friends and family members that have had a bout with skin cancer. Its not cheap, but I've never been burnt when using it. I don't remember it being oily either. Check out the website..........

Does it stay on or do you have to reapply? Bullfrog is steep in price, too, but since you don't have to reapply all day it's actually no more expensive.nutmeg wrote:That stuff is amazing isn't it??? Another kudos for Bullfrog. We use the spray on. My keet broke out from EVERY sunscreen we tried until we found this! (even the baby sensitive skin ones) No sunburns and it doesn't feel greasy. We stay on the beach all day without burns.krusin1 wrote:SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Molly, you might try the gel version of Bullfrog. I'd second using BullFrog. We end up in FL every summer with two elementary school-age kids. We ALWAYS got burnt (light complexions) until we started using Bullfrog. NO BURNS ever since.![]()
And we actually use the spray-on stuff, not even the gel. It's quick and easy and stays on.
From Blue Lizard's website......SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Does it stay on or do you have to reapply? Bullfrog is steep in price, too, but since you don't have to reapply all day it's actually no more expensive.

Jen, Tom and I used it on a snorkeling trip. We put it on before we got on the boat. Snorkeled, then had a boat ride back from St Kitts to Nevis in the sun. We did not get a chance to reapply in the boat, but neither of us burned. Given the chance I would have reapplied just to be safe, but our bag was stowed and we were on one of those Zokiak type boats and it was a little to "exciting" to be moving around to get to your stuff and apply lotionSchoolGirlHeart wrote:Does it stay on or do you have to reapply? If it was the "comes off easily in water stuff" we would have been toast anyway because we got soaked on that boat![]()
Oh, and about the cost.....It was expensive, but we came back with a full bottle and part of another one. You didn't need to keep putting it on every hour or so or everytime you went into the water.
I was totally sold on the stuff. One discalimer though, when I'm in the tropics I cover up most of the time. I have long sleeved shirts and hats, cover ups, etc. I have learned that vacations can be ruined by sunburn. So I don't rely only on sunscreens. But since we were unable to keep covered up on this boat trip most of the time, I was pretty impresssed that neither of us burned.
