This thread is about Charlton Heston. If you want to disparage the president go ahead and start a new thread. If you want to do the same to Tenet start another thread. I simply pointed out, granted I did so sarcastically to your post, that receiving the medal of freedom is a tremendous honor.Lightning Bolt wrote:...if it was handed to me from this clowngreen1 wrote:Yeah, receiving the Medal of Freedom would most definitely be a low point in anyones life.Lightning Bolt wrote:That's interesting.C-Dawg wrote:Great post and well saidWino you know wrote:Sail on, Mr. President-Go with God & rest well, sir. A president presenting another president with a well-deserved Medal of Freedom, the nations highest honor for a civilian.
I find both the images above to be MOST TARNISHING of Charlton Heston's legacy.
Ask anyone who remembers Columbine...
I'll choose to remember him as the man that was elevated to star status from his chosen profession: he was an actor.![]()

He also gave this medal to George Tenet, fallen director of the CIA, for his service (except for all that 9/11 bother)

I had the priveledge of meeting Mr Heston along with Glenn Ford and Henry Fonda while Filming "Midway" on Board the USS Lexington. All three men were very gracious, although Mr Heston stood out as larger than life. He was always true to himself, an outspoken activist for civil rights as well as his better known role as the President of the NRA. In my opinion, a true American Hero.
God Bless you Charlton Heston, Sail On!

Charlton also played an anti-gun ape in the dreadful Marky Mark remake a few years ago.Tropic_Al wrote:[The first words ever spoken by a human to the apes]rumdrinks wrote:Every time I think of Heston, I think of the Planet of the Apes, when he said "Get your stinkin' paws off me, you filthy ape".
